Anybody experiencing 'yelp' instability?

..as for me it keeps dying on 4.99.72/i386 with the below stacktraces...
(1st is from starting yelp directly I think and 2nd from within gnucash).

 - plain -current, 1 to 2 weeks old yelp and gnucash packages,
   I even didn't modify mk.conf except default options -inet6,
running on a non-ipv6 kernel and built with mkhtml=no.

What I do to provoke this is:

- start yelp. Wait.
- start gnucash, click help -> tutorial. Wait.

That should be fixed in revision 1.29 of "pkgsrc/pkgtools/libkver/
Makefile".

Hello!

If possible, please update Erlang to newest version because it has many

pkgsrc is currently in a freeze in preparation for the 2008Q3 branch, but
after that, I can update the package and provide you a diff to test.

If you have time, check wip/erlang (http://pkgsrc-wip.sf.net),
I know it lags one version, you can reduce our work, if you test it.
Also, it may happen so, that I'll do it before Geert, or anyone else
will do it.

And if you have even more time, try updating it yourself, you can gain
some valuable experience.

Re: glib 2.18 instability

I tracked down the problem to /usr/pkg/share/mime/packages/*.xml being
completely corrupt. Downgrading to glib 2.16 got rid of the crashes, but
apps still weren't behaving properly. I ended up looking at the mime
package *.xml files and they were somehow full of a bunch of null entries,
so I copied them from a working machine, ran sudo update-mime-database
/usr/pkg/share/mime, and all is well now.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Cheers,
Jared

Because your system crashed at a bad time? WAPBL is good because it
guarantees file-system integrity, but that certainly doesn't mean data
can't be junk.

This machine isn't using WAPBL, and it's not that kind of junk. And I've
seen it on more than one machine.

Have a look at /usr/pkg/share/mime/packages/*.xml (from your branch is
fine), tell me if it looks like this:

$ ls -l *.xml
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 944659 Oct 2 23:30 freedesktop.org.xml
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 4351 Oct 2 23:30 gnome-theme-package.xml
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 49468 Oct 2 23:30 nautilus.xml

It won't, and if you open the xml files it looks like a bunch of stub
entries.
