I've only briefly experimented with seamonkey. I have no problems with
preferences with firefox or thunderbird.

I did notice, just now, that pkgsrc sunbird is 0.3.1, while the current
release is 0.7.

Good catch. I'd checked the directory but not prefs.js -- that solves
that problem. The next problem, of course, is why prefs.js is being
created mode 444.... I'll send-pr. (Everything else in the directory
is owner-writable.)

Thanks.

Hi Frank,

For what it's worth, I've been using Gnome 2.16 on macppc (3.1) for the
past year without much trouble. (I can make Nautilus crash fairly
predictably if I download new documents like PDFs to my desktop, but
that's about it.) I've been hesitating to upgrade because I assumed
there were probably hurdles like this.

Concerning a problem with fonts, are you referring to Firefox? If so,
see my comments in the following postings:

http://mail-index.netbsd.org/pkgsrc-users/2006/11/06/0001.html
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-macppc/2007/10/19/0000.html

I'll be upgrading to 4.0 shortly so I'll see if that changes anything.
I believe people have found running -current is better for Firefox.

Re: t1lib on a Cobalt Qube2 without x

I did a fix locally:

http://www.netbsd.org/~uebayasi/t1lib.patch

pkgsrc is not very friendly for no-X11 environments yet.

Need some help for setting up a binary repo of pkgsrc packages (WAS: Re: modular-xorg-drivers fail to compile on Solaris SXCE b73)

Hello,

I am in the process of compiling and collecting a repository of binary
packages made with pkgsrc for Slackware, FreeBSD and OpenSolaris(aka
Solaris SXCE) - to make pkgsrc more known -. This repo should go
online in the next few days.

I already have compiled many packages for Slackware, FreeBSD and also
for OpenSolaris - at this stage mostly developer packages from lang
and devel -. I worked hard to get a maximum number of packages
compiled without disturbing anyone here with error reports by just
ignoring the packages which didn't built and "jumping" to the next
package. But just now I am stuck at compiling modular X11 on Solaris.

Yesterday I got the answer from Joerg above which didn't help me.

Give me some tips please, how to succeed in compiling X11.
I think that there are many people out there who use X11 on Solaris
which is compiled with pkgsrc. What are the right settings in mk.conf?
Which compiler did you use (SUNWspro or gcc)?

regards

Just use the X server shipped with Solaris. IF you just want to use X11
programs, you don't have to do anything with the drivers at all. If you
are just interested in normal programs, they will pull in the
dependencies they need and be done.

That change looks good - would there be a particular reason its
 	not in the tree? :)

No Sir,

You didn't understand : I want to compile packages ("bmake package")
to put them on a online repo where others can get them for their
private/professional use.
And X11(+GNOME/KDE of course) is one of the things that "motivates"
many people to have at least a look at it - the repo -. This is the
idea behind the repo : To make pkgsrc more known.
For FreeBSD and Slackware I compiled X11 successfully but on Solaris I
am stuck - as I already said -.

AND the drivers are not the only thing that don't compile: I tried
modular-xorg-drivers, modular-xorg-apps and modular-xorg-libs. No
success for any of these meta-packages.
I also tried to compile with sunpro and with gcc. No success.

So, again, please, give me some hints how to get these packages compiled.
For example how can "disable" that pkgsrc compiles(or better tries to

Re: Request for import of SQLGrey

Hi,
Sorry to bother. But I'd really need this to be in pkgsrc as soon as possible:
deploying servers that will be using it. I will do all the testing.

Cheers,
Petr
