The sad thing is that there seems not much if any symbolism hidden in
the logo. If at least the flagpole was pointing the other
direction...

Re: problem with Serial ATA disk on amd64

Hello,

I updated my box from -current/i386 to -current/amd64 but I forgot
to update /dev... I've updated /dev, then problem has gone.

Thank you for your reply, and sorry for the noise.

best regards.

It looks like ext2fs dones't use i_size field.

from inode.h:
	/*
	 * Copies from the on-disk dinode itself.
	 *
	 * These fields are currently only used by FFS and LFS,
	 * do NOT use them with ext2fs.

I don't think that's an option. TNF doesn't own the rights to the
submissions which were not selected.

yes, me too.

Maybe the logo looks quite old by now, but if somebody would paint the
old daemons with the new modern look of the new logo it would be
perfect.

oh, well, logos usually change to the worse. Eventually everything will
have a new modern non-offensive meaningless orange logo.

Or maybe I am too conservative..

The daemon might offend some Christians - it doesn't offend all. I believe
that the reason for removing it is that ist is associated more with
FreeBSD (but I could be wrong).

That might be true.
Should we drop the "BSD" moniker from NetBSD as well? After all, people
might think NetBSD is somehow FreeBSD from that too.

Let's call it NetOS.
