  Arcadiy,

since you mentioned HEAD in Subject, can you tell whether problem
exists with the latest mpd4 release?

Re: MPD4 HEAD crashes with RADIUS authentication on FreeBSD 6pX; mpd.log in the body

Gleb,

Over the last year I've tried all possible releases of MPD4 including b1, b2
and HEADs at various points in time. The result is always the same - a seg
fault right after (or during, can't tell from the logs) RADIUS auth.

Gleb,

I found the problem and hopefully fixed it (patch attached). Another option
is to remove Freee a couple of lines above the added statement.

Client behind firewall (iptables)

Hi all!

I have a FreeBSD 6.0 running MPD server 3.18_3.
The MPD server works very good when I has _direct_ connected by
Internet.

My problem is with one client (Win XP) behind iptables (debian)

In this case, I've tried do this:

# Allow forwarding from inside to out and vice versa
iptables -A FORWARD -i $INTINT -s $LOCALNETWORK -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -o $INTINT -d $LOCALNETWORK -j ACCEPT

# Allow pptpd connections (port 1723)
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i $EXTINT -p TCP --sport $PUBLICPORTS --dport 1723 -j ACCEPT
iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -o $EXTINT -p 47 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -o $EXTINT -p 47 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -i $EXTINT -p 47 -j ACCEPT

But still don't woking. Somebody can help me? Follow the mpd.log:

Jan 17 11:36:19 luke mpd: mpd: PPTP connection from 200.171.131.250:1860

pptp x nat

All,

Is PPTP works behind NAT? If no, where is the problem?

Is the NAT (pf or/ and netfilter)?
Is pptp? Is mpd?

Thank you!

Yes, it do. If it don't work perhaps your firewall does not allow GRE protocol?

PPPoA problems with QWest and Cisco 678 router

Hello everyone. The following is a bit lengthy, but I felt that
more information was better than too little...

I am trying to get a FreeBSD 5.4 release PC to connect through
my ADSL modem through QWest using PPPoA and bridging. I have a
block of 8 IP addresses from 71.39.141.48 through 71.39.141.55.

QWest says that the modem will get IP address 71.39.141.54, but
if I put the router into bridging mode, using mpd I should get
that IP address for my PC, right?

Follows is how I set up my Cisco 678 router to find out what the
IP address is on the other end. I set it up for getting a
single IP address and found it to be 63.231.10.208:

V3.18 / multilink PPPoE client negotiation problem

Hi list,

I try to set up the mpd to act as a multilink-pppoe client (and talk to
a Cisco 72xx, acting as LNS)

When I try to establish the Session I see the following error-debug on
the cisco:

Jan 19 15:59:21.884 CET: ppp499 LCP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 7 len 36
Jan 19 15:59:21.884 CET: ppp499 LCP: MRU 1456 (0x010405B0)

Jan 19 15:59:22.316 CET: Vi24 LCP: (0x0000)

So, it seems that the Cisco wants to negotiate the mrru (in the LCP
phase) on the bundle but the answer from MPD is already multilink - that
seems to be wrong. I guess MPD need to ACK the MRRU - and with it the
multilink-capability - first. Am I wrong?

pppoe handling

Just stumbled upon... Using pppoe on two interfaces fails with this:

Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: mpd: pid 47609, version 4.0b4 (root <at> nora.lan
17:55 28-Jan-2006)
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] ppp node is "mpd47609-out0"
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: netflow node is "mpd47609-netflow"
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: tcpmss node is "mpd47609-mss"
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] exec: /sbin/ifconfig rl1 up
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] using interface ng0
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] IFACE: Open event
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] IPCP: Open event
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] IPCP: state change Initial --> Starting
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] IPCP: LayerStart
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [in2] ppp node is "mpd47609-in2"
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [in2] exec: /sbin/ifconfig rl0 up
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] bundle: OPEN event in state CLOSED
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] opening link "pr1"...
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [pr1] link: OPEN event
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [pr1] LCP: Open event
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [pr1] LCP: state change Initial --> Starting
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [pr1] LCP: LayerStart
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [pr1] device: OPEN event in state DOWN
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] exec: /sbin/ifconfig rl0 up
Jan 28 22:57:01 nora mpd: [out0] using interface ng0

The interesting part is that out0 makes active interface rl1 first
then switching to rl0. None of them can work after that...

Each of them works successfully alone but turning on both of 'em
trashes everything.

mpd won't respond?

Hi all:

I configured pptp server on freebs 5.4 and it seems to
be
working (kinda):

1) From log file
Jan 30 03:07:03 home mpd: [pptp0] using interface ng0
Jan 30 03:07:03 home mpd: [pptp1] ppp node is
"mpd5309-pptp1"
Jan 30 03:07:03 home mpd: [pptp1] using interface ng1
Jan 30 03:07:03 home mpd: [pptp2] ppp node is
"mpd5309-pptp2"

2) From "ifconfig"
ng0: flags=8890<POINTOPOINT,NOARP,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST>
mtu 1500
ng1: flags=8890<POINTOPOINT,NOARP,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST>
mtu 1500

Also I configured a client and placed it at the same
subnet of the external interface of the pptp server
(254.254.254.3) and tried to connect (for testing).
Nothing happens. mpd.log didn't even log any
activities on the external
interface. I used command "pptpclnt 254.254.254.1" on
dos prompt and it just waited forever ...

Here is the config for mpd.conf:
