error in booting live cd

Hi,

I installed freebsd 5.4 beta1 and installed cpdup and cdrtools from ports before start to build an image of
live cd using freesbie 1.0 scripts.

After finished building the iso file, the cd started booting but failed to continue with the following error:

Mounting /usr
mount_cd9660: /dev/md2.uzip: No such file or directory
Mounting /var
mount_cd9660: /dev/md3.uzip: No such file or directory
...
/usr/sbin/chown: not found

..

What have I missed to install in this newly installed 5.4 system in order to build a proper FreeSBIE live cd?

Thanks
sam

Make Live CD

I would like to make some changes to Freesbie and then recreate the live
cd.

Where do I start?
Where are these scripts to build an ISO?

Re: Make Live CD

I would like k3b so I could burn DVD's.

Are there any scripts in which I could make the ISO and burn it on the
CD without uploading to the CVS. Don't get me wrong I would like to
contribute to Freesbie but some of the changes which I want to make
maybe a little to specific, eg: vt420 terminal program, would anyone
else use this. I would like to just make a little Freesbie distribution
and put it back onto CD and make it bootable.

Build your own system, grab the scripts and create a bootable CD.

bsdinstaller

Hi,

I am trying to install FreeSBIE on various systems. One problem I have
noticed is if hdd of the system is bigger than 40gb (not very sure about
size. But it is very close to that) bsdinstaller can't install label. And I
see error messages on system boot. (On loader ). On loader prompt (OK) when
I list devices I get " ad0s1 bad label" error. But if the hdd is smaller
than 40gb I get no error. And easily install it..

Has anyone lived the problem like that.

Re: bsdinstaller

I have noticed if you don't use kern.geom.debugflags=16 you can't issue
boot0cfg command. It gives boot0cfg: /dev/ad0: ioctl DIOSMBR operation not
permitted error. Since this is another story but I thought that can be
usefull for further FreeSBIE releases...
