PR misc/113543 in FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE?

Hello,

About half a year ago I filed PR 113543, which includes a one-liner
patch to make glabel and friends work inside the Fixit shell on the
FreeBSD CD's.

Is there a chance that the patch will be included in 7.0-RELASE? In my
opinion, it's quite a serious bug, because the Fixit shell is a place
where the utilities will be used quite often (prepare a system with
gmirror, for example).

I agree. I'll test it and ask my mentor and re <at> for approval.

Hi,

I just checked this with 7.0-BETA4, and I was able to use glabel etc. within
the Fixit shell, so there was actually no difference from your patch (i've
built an iso and tested that as well). Is there any other case you were
thinking of that it was not working?

Well, I don't know about glabel, but the last time I used a FreeBSD CD,
there was a significant difference between gmirror with and without
setting the envvar. Options such as `label' weren't available.

geli key without key file

If I create a geli volume without specifying a -K newkeyfile as in the
handbook example that dds /dev/random to a 64 byte file, would a
reasonable passphrase result in geli init creating a reasonable key for
the AES or Blowfish encryption implementation?
