Updated: lftp-4.3.7-1

A new version of lftp, 4.3.7-1, is now available in the Cygwin
distribution.  This is a new upstream release, that fixes a few bugs since the
previous Cygwin release, version 4.3.6-1.  You can read the full changelog at
http://lftp.yar.ru/news.html.

lftp is a sophisticated file transfer program and ftp/http/bittorrent
client. It supports multiple network protocols, offers tab completion,
command history, job control, and bookmarks, can mirror sites and transfer
multiple files in parallel, and keeps trying interrupted operations until
it can complete them.

Updated: socat 1.7.2.1-1, 2.0.0b5-1

Two new versions of socat are available in the Cygwin distribution:

  1.7.2.1-1 - current
  2.0.0b5-1 - test

These are new upstream releases, that address a security vulnerability in
previous versions.  You can read the upstream changelog at
http://www.dest-unreach.org/socat/doc/CHANGES.  Because this is a security
update, previous versions of socat have been removed from the Cygwin archive.

socat is a relay for bidirectional data transfer between two independent data
channels. Each of these data channels may be a file, pipe, device (serial line
etc. or a pseudo terminal), a socket (UNIX, IP4, IP6 - raw, UDP, TCP), an SSL
socket, proxy CONNECT connection, a file descriptor (stdin etc.), the GNU line
editor (readline), a program, or a combination of two of these. These modes
include generation of 'listening' sockets, named pipes, and pseudo terminals.
socat can be used, e.g., as TCP port forwarder (one-shot or daemon), as an
external socksifier, for attacking weak firewalls, as a shell interface to UNIX
sockets, IP6 relay, for redirecting TCP oriented programs to a serial line, to
logically connect serial lines on different computers, or to establish a
relatively secure environment (su and chroot) for running client or server shell
scripts with network connections.

Obsoleted: openGL package


The openGL package has now been marked as obsolete.

Please note that it is still possible build programs using Windows' native openGL interface by

using the w32api package.

Users of the native GLUT library should adapt their programs to build with the freeGLUT packages.

The native GLUT library was based on Nate Robins' GLUT, which has not been maintained in years,

while freeGLUT is alive and kicking. freeGLUT requires the use of an X server.

Thanks to anyone who helped supporting the openGL package over the years.

Updated: OpenSSH-6.0p1-2

I've just updated the Cygwin version of OpenSSH to 6.0p1-2.

This package fixes a single problem.  If you run ssh-host-config, and if
you're using an existing domain service account, ssh-host-config now
makes sure that the account has "logon as service" rights.

Other than that it's identical to 6.0p1-1.

SQLite is a C library providing local database storage with a SQL 
interface.  Unlike most SQL database systems, SQLite does not accept 
connections from remote users.  Access to the database requires access 
to the file system hosting it; SQLite thus relies on the operating 
system's file security for access control.  In exchange for this 
limitation, you get a smaller, faster database engine that's easy to 
embed within a program.

CYGWIN-SPECIFIC CHANGES SINCE LAST RELEASE
==========================================

This version has an additional patch and configuration options relative 
to the previous version which makes it use certain POSIX code paths 
instead of the Windows native specific ones it erroneously used 
previously.  These changes are at minimum a potential behavior change, 
and might contain ABI changes.

The previous version will therefore remain on the servers for a time to 
allow dependent packages to migrate, if necessary.
