[1.7] Updated: netpbm-10.47.2-1

The following package has been updated for Cygwin 1.7:

*** netpbm-10.47.2-1
*** libnetpbm10-10.47.2-1
*** libnetpbm-devel-10.47.2-1

Netpbm is a suite of image conversion and manipulation tools, supporting
a wide range of formats.

This is an update to the latest "release" of the Advanced branch. The
netpbm-doc package has been obsoleted; instead of the manpage
placeholders and HTML documentation, full-content manpages now ship in
the netpbm (man1/man5) and libnetpbm-devel (man3) packages.

Updated: libvorbis/libvorbis-devel/libvorbis0/libvorbisenc2/libvorbisfile3-1.2.3-1

A new version the libvorbis, libvorbis-devel, libvorbis0,
libvorbisenc2, and libvorbisfile3 packages are now available for
download.

DESCRIPTION:
============
Vorbis is a general purpose audio and music encoding format
contemporary to MPEG-4's AAC and TwinVQ, the next generation beyond
MPEG audio layer 3. Unlike the MPEG sponsored formats (and other
proprietary formats such as RealAudio G2 and Windows' flavor of the
month), the Vorbis CODEC specification belongs to the public
domain. All the technical details are published and documented, and
any software entity may make full use of the format without license
fee, royalty or patent concerns.

This package contains:

* libvorbis, a BSD-style license software implementation of
   the Vorbis specification by the Xiph.Org Foundation
   (http://www.xiph.org/)

* libvorbisfile, a BSD-style license convenience library
   built on Vorbis designed to simplify common uses

* libvorbisenc, a BSD-style license library that provides a simple,
   programmatic encoding setup interface

[1.7] Updated: swig-1.3.38-1

The following package has been updated for Cygwin 1.7:

*** swig-1.3.38-1

SWIG reads annotated C/C++ header files and creates wrapper code (glue
code) in order to make the corresponding C/C++ libraries available to
the listed languages, or to extend C/C++ programs with a scripting
language.

This release is the first built for Cygwin 1.7 with gcc-4.3.

[1.7] Updated: cygwin-1.7.0-61

I just uploaded a new Cygwin 1.7 test release, 1.7.0-61.

This is another bugfix update:

- Correctly interpret Interix symlinks (read-only).

- Set R/O attribute on a file only if ACLs are not active.

- Don't interpret a volume reparse point as a symlink.

- Add two new code pages: 20866 (KOI8-R) and 21866 (KOI8-U).

- Fix problems when running destructors in dynamically loaded DLLs.

FAQ:
====

- Q: How do I know that I'm running Cygwin 1.7.0-61?

  A: The `uname -v' command prints "2009-09-11 01:25"

[1.7] Updated: git-1.6.4.2-1, git{k,-gui,-completion,-svn}-1.6.4.2-1

A new release of git, 1.6.4.2-1, has been uploaded to the cygwin 1.7
release area. This replaces 1.6.3.2-1 as current.

NEWS:
=====
This is a new upstream major release.  I'm attaching the release notes;
see also the package documentation in /usr/share/doc/git/.

When compiled out of the box, the upstream git maintainers cater to older
cygwin releases, and intentionally disable certain features that have been
reported on their mailing list, even though they work with the latest
cygwin. Therefore, this build turns those features back on. However, it
means that this version does assume that you are not using FAT or FAT32 to
hold your repositories, since they do not store file permissions very
accurately.

DESCRIPTION:
============
Git is popular version control system designed to handle very large
projects with speed and efficiency; it is used mainly for various open
source projects, most notably the Linux kernel.

Git falls in the category of distributed source code management tools,
similar to e.g. GNU Arch or Monotone (or BitKeeper in the proprietary
world). Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with full
revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a
central server.

[1.7] Updated: diffstat-1.49-1

A new release of diffstat, 1.49-1, is available for those testing cygwin
1.7, leaving 1.48-1 as the previous version.

NEWS:
=====
This is a new upstream release. From the CHANGES file, the upstream
changes since 1.48 are:

31-Aug-2009
	diffstat 1.49

	improve lzma support, add support for xz (patch by Eric Blake).

	add special case for no-newline message from some diff's (Ubuntu
	#269895).

	improve configure check for getopt header.

	add configure special case for HPUX 11 with _XOPEN_SOURCE definition.

	update config.guess, config.sub

See also /usr/share/doc/diffstat/.

DESCRIPTION:
============
diffstat reads the output of diff and displays a histogram of the
insertions, deletions, and modifications per-file. It is useful for
reviewing large, complex patch files.

[1.7] Updated: monotone-0.45-1

Version 0.45-1 of monotone has been uploaded for Cygwin 1.7;
please notice that due to missing dependencies monotone will remain at
release 0.42-1 for Cygwin 1.5; you have to upgrade if you want to use
the new versions. Please read carefully: http://cygwin.com/#beta-test

monotone is a free distributed version control system. it provides a
simple, single-file transactional version store, with fully disconnected
operation and an efficient peer-to-peer synchronization protocol. it
understands history-sensitive merging, lightweight branches, integrated
code review and 3rd party testing. it uses cryptographic version naming
and client-side RSA certificates. it has good internationalization
support, has no external dependencies, runs on linux, solaris, OSX,
windows, and other unixes, and is licensed under the GNU GPL.

You can find information about new features here:
http://monotone.ca/NEWS

You can find information about upgrading from previous releases here:
http://monotone.ca/UPGRADE

If you're not sure what version do you have you can
use the following command to both check version number
and integrity of the install:
% cygcheck -c monotone

If you have questions or comments, please send them to the Cygwin
mailing list at: cygwin <at> cygwin.com .

[1.7] mpclib-0.7-1

mpclib-0.7-1 has been released for cygwin 1.7.

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION
===================

Homepage: http://www.multiprecision.org/mpc
Download: http://www.multiprecision.org/index.php?prog=mpc&page=download
License: Gnu Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later

MPC is a C library for the arithmetic of complex numbers with
arbitrarily high precision and correct rounding of the result. It is
built upon and follows the same principles as MPFR.

MPC is a prerequisite for gcc-4.5. See:
  - http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2009-03/msg00671.html
  - http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2009-03/msg00804.html

INSTALL OR UPGRADE NOTES
========================

Upstream bumped the shared library version number. I chose not to bump
the DLL version as from limited testing it appears to binary compatible
with mpclib-0.6-1.

Version 0.7, "Campanula uniflora", released in September 2009, comes
with the following new features:
     * New functions: mpc_pow, mpc_set_nan, mpc_swap
     * Bug fixes:
           o log: along branch cut
           o norm: infinite loop in case of overflow
