Updated: ncdu-1.3-1

Version 1.3-1 of ncdu has been uploaded.

http://dev.yorhel.nl/ncdu/

ncdu is a ncurses-based disk usage viewer. It provides a fast and
easy-to-use interface through 'du' utility. It allows to browse through
the directories and show percentages of disk usage.

Cygwin NEWS:
    - Fixed apparent size display, use S_BLKSIZE instead of 512.
    - Ignore file names with '/' to avoid crash when browsing
      /proc/registry

Upstream NEWS:
    - Added 'r'-key to refresh the current directory
    - Removed option to calculate apparent size: both
the disk usage and the apparent size are calculated.
    - Added 'a'-key to switch between showing apparent
      size and disk usage.
    - Added 'i'-key to display information about the
      selected item.
    - Added du-like exclude patterns
    - Fixed bug #1758403: large directories work fine now
    - Rewrote a large part of the code
    - Fixed a bug with wide characters
    - Performance improvements when browsing large dirs

Updated: lftp-3.6.1-1

A new version of the lftp package is available in the Cygwin
distribution. lftp is a sophisticated file transfer program and ftp/http
client. It supports multiple network protocols, offers tab completion,
command history, job control, and bookmarks, can mirror sites and
transfer multiple files in parallel, and keeps trying interrupted
operations until it can complete them.

Version 3.6.1-1 is a new upstream release. It includes several bug
fixes since version 3.6.0. Please see http://lftp.yar.ru/news.html for
details.

Updated: unison2.13, unison2.17, unison2.27

New versions of the unison2.13, unison2.17, and unison2.27 packages are
available in the Cygwin distribution. Unison is a file synchronizer for
Unix and Windows. It allows two replicas of a collection of files and
directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks on the
same host), modified separately, and then brought up to date by
propagating the changes in each replica to the other.

Unison is packaged for Cygwin as three independent packages, each
representing a version of Unison that is incompatible with the other
two. You have to run the same version of Unison on the client and
server, or Unison will issue an error message and quit. By installing
one or more of these packages side by side, you can use whichever one
you need to synchronize with a particular host. Please read
/usr/share/doc/unison*/README.Cygwin for more details.

The unison* packages also install a convenience symlink from
/usr/bin/unison to one of the versioned unison executables, e.g.
unison-2.27.exe. alternatives(8) is used to manage the symlink. If the
symlink is being managed in "auto" mode, then it will automatically
track the highest numbered version of unison that you have installed.
You can override this choice by either changing the symlink manually
with ln(1), or by using alternatives(8):

alternatives --display unison shows you the installed versions of
unison, their priorities, which executable the symlink points to, and
whether the symlink is being managed in "auto" or "manual" mode.

alternatives --config unison presents a menu from which you can choose
which version you want to use as the default. This puts the symlink in

Updated: asciidoc-8.2.4-1

A new version of the asciidoc package, asciidoc 8.2.4-1, is now available
for download, replacing 8.2.3-1 as current.

NEWS:

This is a new upstream release, with upstream changes listed below. See
also the package documentation in /usr/share/doc/asciidoc-8.2.4/.

Updated: findutils-4.3.10-1

A new release of findutils, 4.3.10-1, is available for use, leaving
4.3.8-1 as the previous version.

NEWS:
=====
This is a new upstream release, fixing several issues as documented below,
including all of the cygwin-specific patches that I was previously
maintaining. The release is marked beta upstream, but the 4.3 series has,
in general, been enough of an improvement over the stable 4.2 series that
I have focused on 4.3 releases as the primary cygwin release.

Although the news file mentions the partial addition of birthtime support,
it requires rebuilding from source against a cygwin snapshot to take
advantage of this feature, since birthtime will not be supported
officially until cygwin 1.7.0.

See also /usr/share/doc/findutils-4.3.10/.

DESCRIPTION:
============
The findutils package contains programs which will help you locate files
on your system. The find utility searches through a hierarchy of
directories looking for files which match a certain set of criteria (such
as a filename pattern). The xargs utility builds and executes command
lines from standard input arguments (usually lists of file names generated
by the find command). The locate utility scans a database of filenames
and displays matches. The updatedb utility builds the database for locate.

Updated: git-1.5.3.5-1

A new release of git, 1.5.3.5-1, has been uploaded, replacing 1.5.3.2-1 as
the current version.

NEWS:
=====
This is a new upstream release. See also the package documentation in
/usr/share/doc/git-1.5.3.5/, along with the attached upstream release notes.

When compiled out of the box, the upstream git maintainers cater to older
cygwin releases, and intentionally disable certain features that have been
reported on their mailing list, even though they work with the latest
cygwin. Therefore, this build turns those features back on. However, it
means that this version does assume that you are not using FAT or FAT32 to
hold your repositories, since they do not store file permissions very
accurately.

DESCRIPTION:
============
Git is popular version control system designed to handle very large
projects with speed and efficiency; it is used mainly for various open
source projects, most notably the Linux kernel.

Git falls in the category of distributed source code management tools,
similar to e.g. GNU Arch or Monotone (or BitKeeper in the proprietary
world). Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with full
revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a
central server.

Updated: ddrescue-1.6-1

Version 1.6-1 of ddrescue has been uploaded.

http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html

Important Note:
ddrescue is affected by a bug in Cygwin's raw device lseek().
(Cygwin <= 1.5.24-2 and snapshots < 2007-05-23).
Please read /usr/share/doc/Cygwin/ddrescue-1.6.README for further
info.

Description from README:
GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. It copies data from one file or
block device (hard disc, cdrom, etc) to another, trying hard to rescue
data in case of read errors.

The basic operation of ddrescue is fully automatic. That is, you don't
have to wait for an error, stop the program, read the log, run it in
reverse mode, etc.

If you use the logfile feature of ddrescue, the data is rescued very
efficiently, (only the needed blocks are read). Also you can interrupt
the rescue at any time and resume it later at the same point.

Upstream NEWS:

* A major code reorganization has been undertaken.

* This version skips faster over damaged areas after two consecutive
errors have been encountered.
