NEW: lapack 3.0

INFO
====
Lapack 3.0 has been packaged for Cygwin.

Lapack 3.0 is a comprehensive FORTRAN library for linear algebra operations. It
includes matrix inversions, least squared solutions to sets of equations,
eigenvector analysis, singular value decomposition, etc. It is a very
comprehensive and reputable package that has found extensive use in the
scientific community. Lapack requires a blas (basic linear algebra system)
implementation; the Cygwin binary distribution includes a non-optimized
reference blas library. The Cygwin source distribution includes Atlas,
allowing a locally optimized blas library to be compiled and installed from
source. This greatly improves the computational speed of the Lapack library.
See README.optimize in the CYGWIN-PATCHES subdirectory of the source
distribution for further information on optimized lapack libraries.

Updated: openssl-0.9.8-1, openssl-devel-0.9.8-1 (New: openssl097-0.9.7g-1)

I've updated the version of OpenSSL to 0.9.8-1. This also includes the
openssl-devel package.

This is a new upstream release. The Cygwin release is the vanilla
version, no additional patches.

=======================================================================
IMPORTANT NOTE:

The old OpenSSL version 0.9.7 is still available as a runtime package
called openssl097. The openssl package depends on openssl097 so by
loading the new package you'll also get the old one. This is necessary
since otherwise all packages using the OpenSSL DLLs would stop working,
because they are linked against the OpneSSL 0.9.7 DLLs.

You have been warned.

Updated: openssl-0.9.8-2, openssl-devel-0.9.8-2

I've updated the version of OpenSSL to 0.9.8-2. This also includes the
openssl-devel package.

This is a bug fix release. An upstream change in the Makefiles
short-circuted the installation rules so that the following files
were missing in openssl-devel-0.9.8-1:

  /usr/include/openssl/blowfish.h
  /usr/include/openssl/des.h
  /usr/include/openssl/old_des.h

This is fixed in -2. The patch has been sent upstream.

Enjoy the official release message again:

Updated: bash-3.0-6

A new release of bash, 3.0-6, is available, replacing 2.05b-17. (Prior
packaging attempts 3.0-1 through 5 were never made current cygwin releases.)

NEWS
====
This is a new (well, 11 month old) upstream release, and includes all
official upstream releases. It also contains various cygwin-specific
patches to work around known bugs in the 2.05b release that were not fixed
upstream by the 3.0 release. It requires cygwin 1.5.18 or later.

This release also marks the switch in the cygwin distribution such that
/bin/sh is now bash, not ash, similar to Linux distributions. Both the
ash and bash packages have cooperated, so hopefully there will be no
problems performing the upgrade regardless of how you use setup.exe to
select the new versions.

DESCRIPTION
===========
Bash is an sh-compatible shell that incorporates useful features from the
Korn shell (ksh) and C shell (csh). It is intended to conform to the IEEE
POSIX P1003.2/ISO 9945.2 Shell and Tools standard. It offers functional
improvements over sh for both programming and interactive use. In
addition, most sh scripts can be run by Bash without modification.
