BSDA at Ohio LinuxFest

The BSDA will be available at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio on September 27. Event details are here:

https://register.bsdcertification.org//register/events/ohio-linuxfest

Note that the conference is actually over on the day of the exam so you can just walk into the exam room (after registering on the BSDA registration website). I'll be proctoring the exam.

For those of you in that area, I'll be giving a talk on "BSD for Linux Users" the day before during LinuxFest. I'll then help out at the BSD booth in the expo hall. I could use at least one more person to help with the booth--if you're interested or know someone who may be, ping me offlist.

Cheers,

Dru

BSDA at KyivBSD

The BSDA will be available at KyivBSD:

https://register.bsdcertification.org//register/events/kyivbsd

We should know the exact time and name of the proctor within a few days and that info will be added to the event listing.

Note that all of the talks at this event will be in Russian and that the exam will be in English.

The conference itself is free and is looking for sponsors to help pay the event costs. If you're interested in sponsorship, see http://kyivbsd.org.ua/?id=9.

If you wish to take the exam at this event, please pre-register and pay for your exam beforehand.

Cheers,

Dru

Q and A on BSD Certification

The "BSD Security: OpenBSD 4.5" issue of BSD Magazine contains a Q and A on BSD Certification with Dru Lavigne and Mikel King of the BSD Certification Group. A PDF of that section of the magazine is available from my Slideshare page and can be downloaded by permission of the publisher:

http://www.slideshare.net/dlavigne/q-and-a-for-bsdmag

If you have any questions you'd like to see answered in a future Q and A, reply on the bsdcert <at> mailing list.

Cheers,

Dru

BSDcert at COSECOL

COSECOL is a free to attend conference at the Universidad Autonoma in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic from September 14-17. Website (in Spanish) is at http://cosecol.org  The schedule should be up on the website late next week.

I'll be giving a talk (in English) on BSD Certification and co-leading a workshop on PC-BSD during the conference. I'll also be meeting with education officials about getting BSDA training programs and testing centers in the Dominican Republic.

There currently aren't any plans to hold the BSDA at the conference but I will be in the city all week. If there is interest in taking the exam or hosting a room for the exam, let me know.

If you belong to any BSD or sysadmin mailing lists in Latin America, please help us spread the word by letting them know about BSDcert's presence at COSECOL. I hope to meet some of you there!

Cheers,

Dru
