When did you last selfupdate-cvs? I thought this was fixed by the
update that went in yesterday or so.

Re: libxml2, xsltproc

Further to the problem identified below, I tried updating the libxslt
page, both with
   fink update libxslt
   fink rebuild libxslt
Both attempt to download the file "libxslt-1.0.27.tar.bz2", which seems
to download 100%, but then fail with the msg:
   Downloading the file "libxslt-1.0.27.tar.bz2" failed.
   (1) Give up
   (2) ... etc

Is there some problem with this file?

In a masterpiece of bad timing, I did the selfupdate-cvs the day before
trying to update kdevelop, and the bug fix was posted just after that.
Story of my life...

So, I did the selfupdate and tried to rebuild kdevelop again and got a
LONG build (over 1 hour?), ending with the same break as it had before.
Here's the last compiler command that ran:

g++ -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -Wall -pedantic -W
-Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-prototypes -Wwrite-strings -Os
-fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE
-DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_COMPAT -o .libs/libkhtml.la.closure
.libs/libkhtml_la_closure.o .libs/libkhtml_la.all_cpp.o
.libs/libkhtml_la.all_cc.o -Wl,-bind_at_load -L/usr/X11R6/lib

Re: Rosegarden a QT/KDE3 based audio/midi sequencer.

Wouldn't it be better to port ALSA, rather than artsmidi since
Rosegarden doesn't seem to recommend aRts anyway?

Re: kdepim install fails.

I've updated several times today.

kdelibs and base built fine. Just pim has died since you did the fix
yesterday.

simply Sawfish?

Hello,
I am considering using Sawfish as my window manager with Apple X11.
I was impressed with its mix of features when using it with GNOME
on Linux. But I'm not sure I want the full GNOME features on my
iBook. It seems Sawfish by itself may be sufficient. Especially
since I have the Aqua and X11 windows intermixed on the desktop.
So I installed Sawfish via Fink, and it seems to run mostly fine.
However, if I minimize a window, it disappears. Unlike with twm
or lesstif, where I'd get a little icon-like thingy I could
subsequently click on to open it back up. Is this because of a
bug? Or do I really need some additional software, like GNOME,
for handling the minimized Sawfish window?

Re: libxml2, xsltproc

Can you paste the output from an attempt into a message (to make it easier
to identify the problem)?

You do. When I used Sawfish by itself on OS X, I used a very minimal
panel-like program called 'fspanel' which you may find useful. (Now I
just use Apple's quartz-wm instead).
