Latest Vim

I'm still using 10.1.5. The latest Vim dies rather quickly when I try
to compile.

Those are the same errors that I had. For what it's worth, you get the
same errors if you grab the Unix source from www.vim.org and try to
build it yourself. So it's not specifically a fink problem, I think.

You are correct, Tom. The different errors I received when I tried to
compile Vim via Fink both with X and without Xwindows were the same when I
downloaded the package and compiled it on my own.

(If you've just tuned in, this was fixed by temporarily renaming
/usr/local/include to something else.)

threaded xfree86?

Hi,

What are the "threaded" versions? If I have to ask, does that
mean that I should just stick to the non-threaded versions?

ObVersionInfo:

$ fink --version
Package manager version: 0.10.0
Distribution version: 0.4.0.cvs

Mac OS X 10.1.5, all updates.
December 2001 development tools.

Thanks,
Dan

It says that in the "info," too.

Yes.

The threaded version is only needed for one app - cdat.

building darwin tools on macosx

Has anybody here had good success building apple tools from cvs? I'm
specifically interested in recent versions of the compiler, but I am
flummoxed by Apple's rather strange build system. Could somebody either
point me to a reliable howto or post short instructions? Specifically I
would be interested in learning what gcc depends on.
