Note re: Wikinews Reports feed

Can whoever has access to the Wikinews Reports feed please make sure
that images are not added in full resolution? They may show in a
smaller version in the blog, but the planet aggregator will show them
as uploaded:

http://en.planet.wikimedia.org/

To prevent this problem, please always add a thumbnail from the site
to the blog posts, rather than adding a full image and scaling it down
in the WYSIWYG editor.

If this problem cannot be rectified I'll have to remove the feed. :-(

Re: Note re: Wikinews Reports feed

DragonFire1024 regularly maintains that blog, you might want to ask him on the IRC channel (I don't think he's subsctibed to this list).

Re: Note re: Wikinews Reports feed

I am on this list, but I am not sure on how to do it. StevenFuitSmaak knows more about the blog, and the image sizes than I do. Plus I have no clue on how to fix them.

Subject: [cc-community] Creative Commons citizen journalism

Hi,

Wanted to let everyone know that we just relaunched GroundReport, the
only citizen journalism platform that exclusively uses Creative Commons
licenses. You're invited to come rate content and submit your own news.
You can choose from a range of licenses based on your interests. We also
share our revenues with all contributors, based on traffic.

http://groundreport.com

Here's the kind of content we're interested in:
-- news articles
-- photography & images
-- video
-- audio

Plus we are officially launching our live citizen news channel,
GroundReport TV. If you want to be a citizen reporter or get involved,
please get in touch.

http://groundreport.tv

Thanks,
Rachel

Re: Fwd: [cc-community] Creative Commons citizen journalism

I think all Wikinews articles should be forked to GroundReport following publication, with the profit going towards either the Foundation or an established corporation of Wikinewsies.

or the user(s) who actually wrote the relevant articles? :)

interesting idea though. also Groundreport's CC-BY articles can be
forked back into Wikinews. unless there's a problem with 2.5/3.0
licenses.

Re: Fwd: [cc-community] Creative Commons citizen journalism

Thing is, though, that articles are usually written by one people then tweaked by a few others. And sometimes there are many different authors.

Re: Fwd: [cc-community] Creative Commons citizen journalism

Then give back a percentage based on what was contributed (I personally
would say give it all to the Foundation, but then we would lose a lot of
contributors to GroundReport)
