== Announcement of Wikizine  ==

I am pleased to announce the creation of Wikizine. A new internal news
bulletin for the members of the Wikimedia community.

Wikizine is an weekly publication that will list the news of the Wikimedia
projects of the previous week. It will not be like Quatro that has full
articles. That is not the concept. The ideal Wikizine is short. Every news
listing contains of an one line summary and an url to some place where you
can find more information.

Commonsproject:Drawing pictures for language learning wikibooks

== Language learning wikibooks are in need of good
drawings: would someone help? ==
A very efficient tool for learning language are
pictures related to expressions. I have seen that many
language learning wikibooks could be highly improved
with drawings. I have many ideas of how this drawings
could be, but I lack the creative skill to draw them.
Is somebody willing to help? We could create a
wikiproject in Commons which would be fruitful for any
language learning wikibook in any wikibooks project.

Re: Commonsproject:Drawing pictures for language learning wikibooks

This would be a great thing - also for wiktionary - many pictures can be
associated to words as well.

What about contacting arts students/specialised scools?

I am not able to draw myself, but even over here I have more or less the
same problems - of course: for certain stuff also photos that are
already present in commons can be used.

Ciao, Sabine

Re: Commonsproject:Drawing pictures for language learning wikibooks

I have already searched in Commons for good thematic
pictures. I organized them here:
http://es.wikibooks.org/wiki/Vocabulario_(es)

But many times, in one picture lots of objects could
appear, for example: a kitchen, a workshop,...

We could also go to
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Picture_requests
describing the kind of drawings we would need,...

Javier.

Sorry, the link I gave previously was wrong. Here is
the right one:
