I am just an administrator (not a programmer) and have been using these
for years on several wikis. It did work in old versions and still does
in MW 16.0. Never had any problem. Just make sure that you understand
that you'll have a structure like this (i.e. really read the manual above)

* headings (either a message or taken as-is)
** link | label

link = either a message or article_name or external-link or
message_standing for a portlet

label = either a message or "as is"

PHP language in wiki pages

This question might be offtopic here, but I do not realy know PHP
well, and would like to know the following:

1. Is there a offline WYSIWYG editor that can assist one in creating
wiki pages?
2. Are there any resources out there that can assist me in learning PHP
perhaps that one uses in wiki pages?

Thanks.

Regards,

Twitter integration

Hello guys,

are there any examples how to integrate the recent twitter posts in mediawiki?

I'd like to show them as latest news on the main page.

I thought about using twitter.com/badges and include raw html/js into
my main page but for that I would have to enable raw html that is of
course dangerous.

Any better ideas?

Regards

Questions to Quiz extension

Hello guys,

I have some questions to Quiz extension.

1.
When I fill out an input field - e.g. the answer to number one
(http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Help:Quiz#Typed_response_.28short_answer.29)
and then submit via return - my answer is not only filled in into this
field, but also into another (the first one?) field of a completely
different quiz below - see here
http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Help:Quiz#Gapfill_.2F_cloze.
Can anyone tell me why this happens?

2.
How can I remove the message "Your score is 0 / 3"? It would be great
if it wouldn't show up with quiz-simple.

3.
How can I increase the size of the input fields quiz uses for some exercises?

That's it. Thank you guys.

Blank out category in name

Hello guys,

I'd like to blank out the "category" or in my case "Kategorie" inside
of the name that is displayed as sub-category.
See my example "Kategorie:Einführungskurs: Kapitel 1: Sich vorstellen"
at http://wiki.ziesche.de/w/index.php?title=Kategorie:Einf%C3%BChrungskurs&action=edit&redlink=1

It should work because it is completely blanked out at wikipedia, e.g.
here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorie:Thema_nach_Staat

How can I achieve this?

Re: Extend or edit the editor from UsabilityInitiative

I just found out that wikipedia extended there editor too. They have
additional buttons, for example to avoid wiki-formatting.
The strange thing is that there Vector.js does not need any customisation:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Vector.js

How do they do that?

There isn't that option. You can get a daily digest or you can get
all the messages to the list.

Re: Twitter integration

You can use the Widgets extension[1,2].
