Several users who have umlauts (äöü) or ß in their
usernames pointed out that they can no longer log in
since the UTF-8 conversion took place. It looks like
the user table wasn't correctly converted to UTF-8.

Shaihulud already fixed two usernames by manually
updating the user table: [[de:Benutzer:Markus Schweiß]]
and [[de:Benutzer:PhilipErdös]]. Another one,
[[de:Benutzer:Hansjörg]], claims to have solved the
problem by deleting his cookies and browser cache,
which didn't work for others.

Shaihulud will be away for 3 days, so it would be nice
if another developer could continue repairing the user
table. So far 2 more users have reported problems

Initial Comment:
The search feature shows a few bytes of each article as
a preview. It seems to give a maximum of 80 bytes
before and 80 bytes after the search hit.
Unfortunatelly, it thereby splits up multi-byte UTF
characters, thus creating badly encoded search result
pages. The invalid bytes show up as encircled question
marks in Firefox.

I guess it won't be too hard to make the search feature
return 80 characters, not 80 bytes.

On es.wikipedia I tried to delete a 0-bytes image
revision for Imagen:Maria de austria.jpg with the
(borr), i.e. (del), link and the result was that the
image description page was deleted and all the
revisions lost.

I later restored the description page but the all the
image revisions has been lost. I think this is not the
first time to happen and the other revision deleted was
not 0-byte length so probably the problem is not
related to that fact and may happen always (I have no
tested so far since the images are lost).
