I'd like to make a translation

hi!
I'm a student,and now i'm studying the specification RDF
schema(<http://mail.sina.com.cn/cgi-bin/redirect.cgi?http://www.w3.org/TR/rd
f-schema/>http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf<http://mail.sina.com.cn/cgi-bin/redirect.
cgi?http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-schema/>-schema/). I want to translate it into
chinese,so that understanding of it should be relatively easier for those
who know chinese.
I've read the Intellectual Rights FAQ page. However I'd like to know if I
began this work ,what else should i do or be attention to? I mean ,is there
any obligation?
Because I've never do such a job before , I want to know some details that
i may not think of.
Thanks a lot!

yours,
Wang Li(濫栓)

You've been faster than me! I had already sent an email to
w3c-translators-fr <at> w3.org and was typing the one to
w3c-translators <at> w3.org :-) ...

Thanks

Eric

volunteer as a translator for a W3C specification

Hi,

As a web developer and long term W3C visitor - and try
to implement its recommendation-, I would like to
translate the following URI into Farsi(Persian)
http://www.w3.org/WAI/References/QuickTips/

Also, please let me know if you have other W3C
specifications which might be more important to be
translated.

Best Regards,
Ali M. Rokni

WAI CAG 1.0 in Finnish

Hi,

Just an announcement to make:

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 is translated in Finnish, see

http://www.intermin.fi/intermin/hankkeet/juhta/home.nsf/pages/06D2E977451D62
FFC2256C1300392172?Opendocument

I personally had nothing to do with the work but looking at the
translations at

	http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WAI-WEBCONTENT-TRANSLATIONS

it seems that the perhaps the translation has not been reported to W3C?
The translation is published under the Finnish Ministry of the Interior,
see

	http://www.intermin.fi/en

The reason I'm telling this is that I work at the W3C Finnish Ofice and
I'm in a (slow) process of compiling W3C material in Finnish. Just thought
to report the WAI translation to you if not reported earlier.

Best regards,

translation of "XHTML+SMIL Profile"

Hi,
My name is Eliza Gapenne and I am a French student in translation, in 3rd
cycle (DESS ILTS of the University Paris 7 http://www.eila.jussieu.fr/). I
am also working as a trainee in the French translation company called
LinguaForce (http://www.linguaforce.com) as my studies are work-based
learning.
In the shape of my studies I have to do two dissertations: one of
translation and one in terminology.
As I am very interested about new technologies and computing in general, I
would like to translate the "XHTML+SMIL Profile" provided on your site
(http://www.w3c.org/TR/2002/NOTE-XHTMLplusSMIL-20020131).
Please, could you let me know if I can translate this document?
I engaged myself to respect any of your conditions and to inform you
regularly about the progress of my work.

Yours sincerely,

Eliza Gapenne

Hello Silke!

In general, you place the translation in your (or some other)
webspace and tell the W3C, where to find it, and they create a link
for it.

http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/IPR-FAQ-20000620.html
is not answering this question, maybe someone should add an
explanation to section 5.6. Martin?

Happy working,
Stefan

Note <at> w3c-tranlators mailing list:
Sorry I wrote this in German. It just states that the "Checklist of
Checkpoints for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0" is already
translated into German.

Sehr geehrter Herr Dürst,
Sehr geehrte Frau Lück,

Frau Silke Lück wünscht ein Dokument zu übersetzen, welches bereits von René
Hartmann übersetzt wurde. Die deutsche Fassung des Dokuments finder sich
unter dem Titel:
"Checkliste der Checkpunkte zu den Zugänglichkeitsrichtlinien für
Web-Inhalte 1.0"
auf dem W3C Server unter:
http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Offices/Germany/Trans/WAI/checkliste.html

Das Dokument, das Frau Hartmann übersetzen will:
"Checklist of Checkpoints for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0"
findet sich unter:
http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/full-checklist.html

Es ist nicht erforderlich die "Checklist of Checkpoints for Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 " erneut ins Deutsche zu übersetzen.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Jens
