[PloneDavis-Discuss] UCDPloneSkin for Plone 3?

This question comes up every now and again.  I wandered over to:

https://svn.cse.ucdavis.edu/trac/UCDPloneSkin/

but it states that is just for Plone 2.5.  I thought there was a completed* theme for Plone 3, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Tom--

The migration of UCDPloneSkin to Plone 3 is still a bit of a work in progress, but the trunk of the SVN is now the Plone 3 code. You can find great directions that Marie put together in SVN:

https://svn.cse.ucdavis.edu/trac/UCDPloneSkin/browser/trunk/README.txt

Right now, you have to download the product source and set it up in buildout as a development egg.

The "last piece" that's still being added is integration with the CSSManager product, which replaces the configlet in the original UCDPloneSkin that Charles wrote. CSSManager will make the skin much easier to tweak from the Plone interface.

Best,

Jeremy.

Re: [PloneDavis-Discuss] UCDPloneSkin for Plone 3?

There had been some talk about organizing another skinning sprint to create a Deliverance/xdv version of UCDPloneSkin. It seems like that could be far more useful to our community than spending more time tuning up the Plone 3 version, since a) it can be used for things other than Plone, and b) Deliverance is supposed to be (much, much) easier than the other method.

I know Carol has already started down the road to Deliverance, and I believe the CAES team are, too.

I'd be happy to contribute facilities and my time, if folks would like to pursue this . . .

Re: [PloneDavis-Discuss] Deliverance

I hear strains of banjo music :-)

I am working with Deliverance/xdv, but I don't have much up and running yet, however I think it's the way to
go. I need to schedule the next plone meeting (which will be the week after next), but I'm happy to also put
together some sort of sprint for the plone skin. We can start planning now or we can talk about it at the next meeting.

Re: [PloneDavis-Discuss] Deliverance

I'd love to take part in an XDV/Deliverance sprint, but it would need to be after June 8th. (Plone Symposium East, followed by the CA primary election)

Re: [PloneDavis-Discuss] XDV Installation

I just got my XDV running on ubuntu 9.10.  Admittedly, I'm still jet-lagged from my vacation, so the brain cells aren't all quite working, but after about 5 install attempts, I had to modify my good-py url to get it to all work.  This is in addition to the instructions that are here:  http://pypi.python.org/pypi/collective.xdv.  Just add it to your buildout.cfg.

............
extends =
        versions.cfg
versions = versions

............

Oh and anybody running ubuntu may have issues with libxml2 and libxslt, both of which are necessary.

Hi, folks,

I plan to attend, but Google Maps doesn't know what to do with "1291 Social Sciences and Humanities Davis CA".
