NFS-Utils install problem FC5

Hi All,

Been getting the following error when using you to install NFS-Utils

Parsing package install arguments
Resolving Dependencies
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package nfs-utils.i386 0:1.0.8.rc2-5.FC5 set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: librpcsecgss.so.1 for package: nfs-utils
--> Processing Dependency: libgssapi.so.1 for package: nfs-utils
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: librpcsecgss.so.1 is needed by package
nfs-utils
Error: Missing Dependency: libgssapi.so.1 is needed by package nfs-utils

Anyone seen this error before? Tried Googleing, and found one instance
on an Italian website, but even with translation software it was
impossible to make head or tails of

Cheers,
Chris

You could add your change to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
so that it changes at the end of boot up,
but there may be something else in the system which
is strange. My FC5 shows:

# ll /dev/ttyS0
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 4, 64 Jul  3  2006 /dev/ttyS0

Re: Re: change access mode on FC5

You could just add the user to the uucp group. This would be as simple
as editing the /etc/group file.

Re: Flat bed scanners

Hi Keith,

With older Parallel port scanners -- Epson. With newer USB scanners --
Epson, (and I know the Agfa Snapscan works as I have one). Check with
www.sane-project.org for any you may be considering. I have found it
difficult to find a stand alone scanner these days (plenty of Canon -
but they are not a Linux friendly manufacturer) as most seem to be
included in Multi Function Centres now. And very cheap at that.

G'day Andrew Greig, Peter Smyth et al,

That's 2 votes for Epson and 1 for Mustek.

But I'll check them both anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Netbank and Konqueror

It seems I've lost the ability to access Commonwealth's Netbank services using
Konqueror even if I am set to spoof IE/XP or Safari/OSX.

Seems to be something recent as I've used Konqueror with Netbank for a couple
years. It might be a change to CB's website or the fact that I've upgraded to
KDE-3.5.3.

Typical error message is:
"An error occurred while loading
http://www.commbank.com.au/Netbank/browsersniff.asp:
Could not connect to host www3.netbank.commbank.com.au.'

Has anyone else had problems with CB access with Konqueror? I'm fine using
Firefox and can even access with IE-6 with CXoffice (although I don't as a
general rule )

For those interested Commbank sez:
"Our testing has shown that NetBank will also work with the following:
Mozilla, Firefox and Safari version 1.2(Mac Operating System X, browers.

Help needed.

Hey Mluggers.

I am leaving the state in the very near future, making this month the
last month I can attend MLUG meetings - and probably the last month I
can maintain MLUG.

So what happens now? Well it is time for me to hand MLUG over to
someone willing to maintain the group, and take it on to bigger and
better things. If you are interested, email me off list -
mac <at> mlug.org.au - and we will make arrangements. If by the middle of
next month no-one has stepped forwards, well we will cross that bridge
when we get to it.

Regards

Mac
