One Day One GNU/Linux Command (ROUTE)

One Day One GNU/Linux Command
=============================

route -- Show / Manipulate the IP routing table.

Summary:

Route manipulates the kernel's IP routing table (/proc/net/route). Its
primary use is to set up static routes to specific hosts or networks
via a network interface (like eth0..). Read the man page to understand
the each columns in the output.

Example:

$ route -- Show routing table. It will try resolve the name for IP.

$ route -n -- Same as above. But won't resolve.

$ route -ee -- Show more detailed info

$ route -A inet6 -- Show IPv6 related route info.

# route add -net 127.0.0.0 -- Adds the normal loopback entry.

# route add -net 192.168.14.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth0 -- Adds
a route to the network 192.168.14.x via "eth0".

# route add default gw midas-gw dev eth1 -- Set the default Gateway
                                            for eth1.

I prefer a workshop over an LDD as the
a.time is short,
b.Repeating similar event in the same area, with short gap.

We can have Seminar for all non-cse-branch students about Software Freedom.

Re: request for conducting LDD on SFD at Kamban Engg College - Thiruvanamalai

IMO,
Lecturing will be traditional as compared to their regular classes.
But LDD type of events are those one which makes the student to
participate in it. I prefer LDD with Lectures, though preferring LDD
in the first place and in deed there is a need for lecturing, may be
in the second place.

The college wants a exhibition on FOSSE -type and not the one we had(i
mean the rural development- insyder) kind of a stuff. We have good
knowledge and skills to show case various foss products which we did
it in past.

Kindly add up ur views.

connection to the server was reset while the page was loading in FF3.0 browser

Dear All

I had recently updated Fedora.9.0 using yum update which includes F.F.3.0. The consequence and
ramification is that the F.F.3.0 is not loading web pages at all but only displaying error message stating
that " The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". It worries me a lot as I am not in a
position to use the machine. However, the network activities are functioning perfectly as ever and there
is no hindrance to it. I used "about:config" to change the parameters of network default settings on the
browser. But with no success. the stalemate continues. kindly render your suggestions to resolve this issue.

with kind regards
s.mahalingam

Suggest that you erase all traces of FF from the system as well your
home dir i.e. ~/.mozilla (backup your bookmarks.html if you so desire).

Re-install fresh and let us know if your problem is solved.

For LDD, we need more human resource. Presently we are lacking in
that. So workshop is best. With fixed schedule and focus, we can do
more.

Bye :)

Your present FF setup is doing you no good, so what is your objection to
removing it and installing it afresh?
