W: GPG error: http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates Release:
The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu

W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

anyone else seeing this or able to tell me what to do to correct it?

OT (ish) PCI nVidia 8xxx series card with 512MB?

This is perhaps ON topic because the card is destined to run nVidia's
exciting new VDPAU hardware acceleration for linux.

Does anyone know where I can buy in NZ a graphics card as described in
the subject line?

ie: PCI (not PCIe)
512MB
nVidia
8xxxx series (8400 probably) (9xxx would do too but is even less
likely to be available in PCI).

Nick.

A chance to see the politician's IT policies

Just saw this on the scoop web page whilst looking for news on something else:

http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/SC0809/S00066.htm

Telstra cable traffic script

Last weekend Telstra changed their traffic meter websites, breaking the
parsing of those pages by my telstracabletraffic script. An updated
version of the script can be downloaded from the usual place:

http://volker.top.geek.nz/soft/script/telstracabletraffic

Have fun.

Poster Logos...

Last year I presented a poster concept for SFD.

http://www.tcn.bowenvale.co.nz/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,19/

This year I want to produce a set of posters for the LES [1] kids and to
put on the walls at the CIA [2].

I would like help to find printable logos.

The posters are going to be SR-A3 (bit bigger than A3 - A3 is twice the
size of A4 (normal paper))

Images need to be at least 2000px * 2000px but larger is also ok.

If you can email them to me or just respond with a link.

If you know project leaders and can assist that would be fantastic.

Cheers Don

Phone handset for SIP/Skype & POTS

I'm looking for a cordless telephone handset, that will connect to the
normal phone line (POTS) as well as to "something" for SIP and/or
Skype.

If the "something" is "a PC over USB", then it needs to be a Linux OS.
It might be "The Internet over 802.11" in which case the PC is
irrelevant.

Any experience with such a device is welcome. My preference at the
moment is to use it with Skype because it looks like their $$$ deals
are better than any I can find from SIP providers; however data on a
SIP provider who can get close to the current SkypeOut Pro pricing
would be welcome.

SNMP monitoring of Netgear DG834

I've been tearing my hair out for the last 24 hours trying to get one of the various snmp tools available on
Linux to be able to extract data from my Netgear DG834 ADSL router.
Tools in Windows can access the device fine and get stats (and is doing so at the moment), but in Linux I do not
seem to be able to get information bvack from the router using `snmpwalk -Os 192.168.1.1 public system` or
similar commands. Is there a firewall in Ubuntu that could be stopping the information being sent back? Am
I doing something wrong?
As I said I can get information using tools in Windows on the same PC that Linux is on, but not in Linux.
Any and all help appreciated as I really need to have some way to monitor the real connect speeds I am getting
as I am having major issues where my connect speed keeps dropping back to 64Kbps and despite multiple
resets etc. does not get much better than around 448Kbps with it should be 3.5Mbps

Telstra cable usage downloader

Has anyone written a usage downloader for the new(ish) Telstra cable
meter at https://telstraclear.co.nz/usagemeter ?
Something command line, non-interactive, cron-suitable. Like David
Antliff's cabletraffic script.

The new meter doesn't give details any more, but draws cute pictures -
and offers CSV download. Only past some annoying javascript though
(which doesn't work in konqueror - GRUMBLE), and it needs a cookie. It
works pasting the cookie into wget, well before the cookie expires
anyway.

Anyone started/finished on something like this and would share the code?

Thanks,

Volker
