I won't be able to make this week's meeting, but I will be at next week's.

Again, the meeting is at Cherrywood coffeehouse off 38th 1/2 street.

Flash Multiboot, favorite recovery/diag LiveCDs etc stuff

As per our recent presentation, I am going to be setting up a multiboot
flash drive on a 32 GB flash drive in the next few weeks. I am going to
be deciding which ISOs to put on there, and some dcisions have already
been made:

GParted LiveCD
OphtCrack LiveCD (I wonder if this has been properly updated for
penetrating Win7)
BackTrack 4 (5?) LiveCD

Ubuntu variant (probably Studio edition on a separate partition for
regular desktop use and customization)

Possible but not sure yet: Windoze and Mac OSX boot options. Obviously
I should carefully plan partitioning there... and consider how GRUB2
will handle this due to these proprietary OS's impositions on MBR etc
-------------------

There are others I am considering, but I a little unsure about this part.
It seems like there are a number of troubleshooting, diagnostic and
recovery LiveCDs out there
RIPLinux, Network Security Toolkit, Ultimate Boot CD, etc etc. What are
your top 5 (or 10 even) of these types of LiveCD distros?

In other words, what collection would you have in your toolbox all handy
in one spot?
I ask because I know having some of these distros will be redundancy
(what they come with) and that some are more complete than others.

I wanna make this the supahdrive :) LOL

Re: [ALG-bod] ALG meeting; GNU Linux Discussion

I would be happy to talk about VMware's ZImbra at this week's meeting.
If you haven't used Zimbra it's a pretty complete alternative to
Microsoft's Exchange email server. I can show my current setup and
walk the group through setting up Zimbra's Community Edition (OCS) on
Linux.

Your Weekly Meeting Reminder And THANK YOU!!!

Hey Everyone,

This is just a friendly reminder that we're meeting again this
Thursday at the usual place (Cherrywood coffeehouse). This week is an
open discussion but if nothing else we could always talk about
Debian's HURD installer (I'll try to get this installed on a virtual
machine if nothing else). I know very little about HURD myself so if
anyone knows more please feel free to come!

Also, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone. Over the past few
months we've seen our attendance grow. We regularly have about five
people that show up to almost every meeting and many times see closer
to 10-15 people. The discussions have been really good and
informative and I've enjoyed the presentations. So thank you to
everyone for coming out and I hope to see more!

Again, the meeting is at Cherrywood coffeehouse off 38th 1/2 street.
