video cards

Hey Group;

I screwed up and bought a new NVidia card which turned out to be the
current model number but old design. It is not supported at all short
of "nouveau".
And something is causing this new ASUS M4A87D MB/4Gig and GT440/2Gig
PCI-E video card to lock up without any clue in /var/log. It does it in
openSuSE and Fedora and there is no driver at www.nvidia.com

Can someone suggest a diagnostic software program. And maybe even a
good video card.

What model is it? (What does it say on the box)

The Nvidia driver ought to work for anything less than 5 years old.

If you Me then it is a GT440 with one electrolytic cap visible. It
works but NV has no file.run for it. It works great here without the
speed and 3D stuff that NV.run does. It is real nice image at 1600x1200
using nouveau (and likely DRM) and openSuSE 11.4

GX 440 video card

Hey Group;

I just found out something to pass along. On this x86-64-4x plus a NV
Geforce GT 440 video card I am on a
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-270.41.03-no-compat32.run. It sure is faster! and
works which is unsupported by NVidia. I replaced nouveau and DRM
modules by stripping them from the kernel 2.6.39.rc3.

It works maybe without all the bell but I will let it run and see.

Help Webscraping!

Can any one show me how to web scrape the "WAN IP ADDRESS" off of this web
page?
http://www.tp-link.com/simulator/TL-WR941ND_v2&v3/index.htm

My router's web page is identical, so if you can show me how to webscrape this
it will help me get dyndns going.

My problems is that the frames do not allow right clicking, so I can not get
an url for just the middle frame. This makes it difficult to web scrape the
info.

Thank You

Re: Help Webscraping!

The key is picking out the correct url, which is the inner frame: http://www.tp-link.com/simulator/TL-WR941ND_v2&v3/userRpm/StatusRpm.htm

Using python 2.4 +

import urllib2
url = "http://www.tp-link.com/simulator/TL-WR941ND_v2&v3/userRpm/StatusRpm.htm"
f = urllib2.urlopen(url)
f.read()

Trace

If the use=web indclient (the default) is not fast as it gets your IP from a
website. IF your router is ddclient unsupported and you want to get your
external IP address from your router, then you must webscrape your router's
builtin website.
