php 5.1.4

Hey Group;

I have been playing with Apache latest version and php 5.1.4.
I have apache going but php for the module has become a true pain.
After getting a virgin source to final compile I am getting a install
error. It says something about "#yes/INSTAL <at> 11314# not found" Google
is no help. Has anyone seen this. Secondly, solved it?

I have a feeling that 5.1.4 is nothing but bugs. Where are my SuSE disc?

Re: [Fwd: OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 is Here. Download it Now!]

I've put off responding to this until I had some time to re-check the
install instruction at OOo.Org. To be honest, I'm as confused now as
ever. Mostly as a result of these items in the install instructions.

5# Delete any rpm files that do not apply to your system. For example,
on a Fedora Core 3 system, delete any rpms specific to another
distribution such as openofficeorg-suse-menus-1.9.79-1.noarch.rpm.

6# Then execute rpm -Uvih *rpm.

I do not recall having to delete any of the downloaded archive with
previous versions of OOo. I am a bit unclear just which rpms I need to
kill and which to keep. I'd rather not find out by deleting something I
need and don't know it until the install crashes. I'll be installing
initially to a SuSE 9.3 box.

Sorry for the late entry to this thread.

I just installed OOo on my machine. I had to delete the suse and
mandriva RPMs but everything else Just Worked(TM).

Printing problem with adobe reader on ubuntu dapper drake

Hi! Long time, no post.

I have run into a problem that has me complete stumped. I am taking an
online class and all the materials are provided as .pdf files. I am
using Ubuntu dapper drake and have the version of adobe reader installed
from http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ This is version 7.0.8. I have
seen the same problem with the official ubuntu version which is at
7.0.1.

The problem is that adobe reader refuses to print the .pdfs from my
ubuntu system. The same .pdfs print just fine using the same version of
adobe reader running on windows xp. No, before you jump to conclusions
about my printer set up, let me tell you that I can print .pdfs just
fine on my ubuntu system. They print, no problem. It is only the ones
from my class that I can't make print. It gets weirder... when I check
the security settings on windows it says the doc is password protected
but printing is allowed. On ubuntu it says the doc is password protected
but printing is *not* allowed.

The obvious solution is to try the other pdf viewers out their. They all
display the doc and will print it. So, what is my problem? Well, each
page of the docs have a water mark like transparent background image.
Not one of the linux pdf viewers I have tried render that background
correctly. Some get it right on the screen, others don't even do that
and block out the text where the water mark is visible. All of them that
I am tried generate unreadable text over the water mark. I have tried
evince (default on dapper drake) and gpdf.

Any have a clue what is going on? I am completely stumped. I have

Hey, Bob

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. Just wanted to say it's
good to see you on the list again.

Thanks Joe, that is really nice of you to say. It is nice to be back.
Notice that I am in the technical, flame free, zone. I plan to stay

Re: Printing problem with adobe reader on ubuntu dapper drake

Adobe's Acrobat Reader is quite terrible. I've given up on Acrobat
reader completely due to bugs like this. Since none of the Linux
readers are working for you I would recommend running FoxIt reader
(150k) inside WINE on your Linux box for those stubborn PDF files. It's
fast, a small download, and gets the job done nicely.

Oh, where's the fun in that, Bob?

Can you con one of the family or neighbors into lugging your Winbox down
the stairs?
