ssl.conf and multiple vhosts question

Hi all,
I just finished taking notes on a video overview of configuring
mod_ssl. The guy basically walked through it and configured it to only
serve one virtualhost in the machine. He didn't elaborate on something
important and only mentioned it in passing, and I have a feeling he is
not correct.

He stated that in order to serve ssh to multiple virtual hosts, you
would have to make multiple ssl.conf files. He didn't elaborate on
this, or say how to get the server to point to these files. After a few
minutes of going "huh?", I went "hey wait a minute!" - it occurred to me
that the way ssl.conf file is written, it appears that you would merely
need to add more virtualhost blocks in the same conf file, and point
each block to the IP address's specific keys and certificates.

I am of course making a completely novice assumption though. Could
someone shed some light on this?
Thanks

Auto handling of dual screens on laptops

Good morning,

My Asus laptop regularly gets taken along with me wherever I go.. At
home this means it gets connected to a second monitor but typically
when out, I've got just the one.

It's got an nvidia video card on it.

My question is, is there a way for Linux (Ubuntu 11.10 specifically in
this case) to auto-handle dual screens vs. single screens. So if I
bring my laptop home and plug it in, will it auto configure the second
monitor and then when I go out somewhere will it auto-detect just the
single one and react accordingly?

I can do it manually via nvidia's control center tool but it'd be
really nice to have it auto handle that task.

Thank you,

Robert

Hibernation

Hello,

I was curious what peoples' experience has been with hibernation
recently? I'm currently running Ubuntu 11.10 on an Asus laptop.
After some looking around I was able to get hibernation to "work" but
after a few times it kinda just stops working and needs a hard
reboot/power off.

I was curious what other people were experiencing and what advice you
would have as to where to look next or what packages to install.

Thanks,

Robert

Windoze support group

Unfortunately, many of us end up supporting Redmond.

I am finding it unavoidable to NOT do so in job searching.

I have been too involved in RegEx and Linux issues to remember my
Windoze skills

I propose a Win 7-8 and Server 2008 subgroup to address this issue.

Anyone want to give it a shot?

ALG meeting at New Horizons Computer Learning Center; Linux and gaming

Start: 2012-01-19 19:00
End: 2012-01-19 21:00

Again Thursday, January 26, from 7-9pm Austin Linux Group will meet at
a new place:

New Horizons Computer Learning Center
300 E. Highland Mall Blvd
Suite 100
Austin TX 78752

Robert Parkhurst will talk on Linux and gaming.

For Thursdays Meeting @ New Horizons, Robert Barkhurst will give a
talk on Linux and gaming. We'll cover some of the basics of "where
Linux is", as well as a few popular games that run under Linux and/or
Linux with WINE. And I'll talk about the release of "Oil Rush": A
naval strategy game released by Unigine.

Unigine is a company working on a new OpenGL game engine for all major
computer platforms (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, Android). The goal is
for this engine to help bring new games to Linux.

To demo their new game engine, the company has been working on "Oil
Rush" and intend to release it this week!

In addition, Robert Parkhurst will see about ordering a copy of the game to hand out at
the meeting.

Happy New Year!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you've all had a great break and new year! I'm looking forward
to a great 2012 (even if it is our last year here)!

To start, we're meeting again! It's the same schedule -- about three
meetings a month at Cherrywood coffee house and one meeting a month at
New Horizons. I'm going to schedule our meeting with New Horizons
this week and I'm going to try and schedule the 4th Thursday of each
month at New Horizons so as to keep a pretty consistent schedule and
whatnot. Of course if things change I'll keep you guys updated as
soon as possible!

As far as the meeting topics go, I'd like to start this year by asking
you guys what are some things you would like to see discussed and/or
presented on this year? Anything is open and I would really like to
see a wide range of topics.

To start this off, I'd like to see more about ruby and puppet on Linux
as well as how Linux is doing in the enterprise (anyone working at a
company with Linux is more than welcome to chime in on this). I'd
also like to see more desktop oriented topics relating to Linux such
as video editing, photo editing and photo management, music
management, and gaming (things that show that while Linux can manage
your 10,000 node cluster it can also let you vent your stress on the
virtual battlefield).

We hope to get a new website up and running too! We're working as
time permits to backup what we currently have and then deploy a newer,
revamped version. I'll keep you posted on this as we get more
