That's what Geek v1.0 folks said about the mouse. Multipoint
touch screens look to me to have similar potential to revolutionize
the human/machine interface.

Until it gets cheap enough to put into every cubicle work surface,
it's a novelty.
It's not likely people will be physically comfortable reaching for
their screen, or
leaning over a tabletop.

Re: Modem for my laptop

I recommend USRobotics, available from MicroCenter. Another poster did
extensive stress tests on it. Mine has worked great for 1.5 years!

Linksys WPC54G for Linux?

I just got a Linksys WPC54G to use on my Linux ThinkPad.

Was this a good choice? How do I get it working with Slackware and/or
Mandrake?

If I should take it back to Frys, what do you recommend from Frys or
Microcenter? (I'm in a hurry; I"m flying out next Sunday.)

THANKS!

I would have a very hard time doing anything that supports Novell/Suse
Linux given the unholy marriage between M$ and Novell. I had a hard time
stomaching the use of Suse for a long time as they had a closed source
installer! When Novell picked up Suse I could see nothing good coming
from it. So far I have been correct.

Long live the distros that understand what FOSS is all about: Debian,

It's already buggered up... it's a blank black page!!  Webmasters must be too lazy, or stupid, to create an HTML-compliant website.

It's a flash object. :(

Re: Modem

Maybe you were talking about me and stress testing a modem. It was a
Zoom 3075. Out of 1000 connects only 5 failed. We did the test in a
hot environment because our cheap modems kept failing as the computers
heated up through normal use. The cheap ones would get so bad that the
only connect speed possible was 1200bps and they were 56k modems. This
little mistake set us back a bit and we learned from it. We basically
wrote off over 1000 modems. We still have them in our warehouse but
they are worthless.

I had a 54G, with a thinkpad, before I got this X32 with ipw2200.
It will work with LinuxAnt's Driverloader ($$) and the NDIS drivers for
windows. I believe it also started working with the free ndiswrapper.
