When we blocked these sites about couple of months back, there was
around 10% dip in our bandwidth usage on the backbone side.
The effect on sales is difficult to judge though.

receive several customer’s queries regarding this act which was answered that this action is taken
after the directive issued by PTA. On which customer told us that these sites are opening on PTCL’s DSL
connection. I confirmed that by opening the following sites PTCL’s DSL.

all ISPs were asked to block 1,000 pornographic web sites. All ISPs of the country have acted immediately
on this order of PTA in good faith by blocking these web sites in best national interest.

PTCL’s DSL connection in Islamabad and all of these sites were accessible to PTCL’s DSL customers as
of yesterday, i.e., 08 December 2011.
