Phone number for donations?

I'd like to start making small, regular donations to SPI, explicitly for
Debian. I use my bank's bill-pay function for this sort of thing.
Unfortunately, my bill-pay service requires a US phone number for the
recipient, and I'm not finding such a thing in the SPI web site.

The WHOIS database lists a non-US number, which I can't use for the purpose.

Is there a solution for folks who require a phone number to donate? For
various reasons, only one of which is laziness, writing out checks by hand
and mailing them isn't a good option for me, and I don't tend to allow things
to pull through a credit/debit card directly.

Thanks in advance for clues!

SPI resolution 2013-05-06.jmd.1: MinGW as associated project

This doesn't look controversial to me; I'd like to present it at the
meeting this Thursday if there isn't any disagreement.

WHEREAS

1. MinGW is a substantial and significant Free Software project.

2. The MinGW developers would like SPI's support and assistance,
including taking donations and holding trademarks.

THE SPI BOARD RESOLVES THAT

3. MinGW is formally invited to become an SPI Associated Project,
according to the SPI Framework for Associated Projects, SPI Resolution
1998-11-16.iwj.1-amended-2004-08-10.iwj.1, a copy of which can be found
at http://www.spi-inc.org/corporate/resolutions/2004/2004-08-10.iwj.1/

4. Earnie Boyd is recognised by SPI as the liaison to SPI for MinGW and
is responsible in the first instance for communicating the wishes of
MinGW to SPI. In the event of the need for a replacement Keith Marshall
will name the new liaison.

5. This invitation will lapse, if not accepted, 60 days after it is
approved by the SPI Board.

Proposed: Funding Open Source Accounting software

SPI members:

The Software Freedom Conservancy is proposing to fund the efforts of a
full-time software developer to create NPO accounting software which
will be completely open source and free. SPI could really use such
software.

https://sfconservancy.org/campaign/

As such, I propose that we fund this effort using $10,000 out of our
general SPI funds. I think this is a good idea because:

1) It benefits our member projects by eventually providing more timely
and more transparent accounting of member project funds.

2) It promotes Open Source software by providing a completely free
package to be used at non-profits nationwide*, and eventually worldwide.

3) It promotes Open Source software by making it easier for OSS
nonprofits to have good accounting, and thus establish and maintain NPOs.

4) We have general fund money which is not being used**, and this is the
first project in a long time which is clearly in the interests of SPI's
mission and our member projects.

(* if you check the web page, the Conservancy has already established
relationships with multiple non-OSS NPOs who are interested in the software)

(** As of 3/31, our general reserves were $55,809)

SSL certificate providers

It looks like OBF needs a new wildcard cert for its primary domain. Are there some recommendations among the
projects under this roof as which providers provide good value or are recommendable for other reasons?

And I understand from the recent discussion that SPI doesn't provide this service - am I correct in that?

Bitcoin

Hi!

Have you considered Bitcoin as a way of donating to you? I'm not saying it's necessarily something great but
it certainly is something to consider as (especially international) donations are always a huge hassle.

Thank you for the valuable work you do!

List of associated projects

Hi all. The Open Bioinformatics Foundation and Sproutcore projects still
don't have blurbs on the website at http://www.spi-inc.org/projects/

If these projects could send them through I'll put the pages up.

Cheers
