Ah, ternyata ada terusannya lagi, sedikit. Child Trust Fund (CTF)!

Karena satu anak saya lahir di UK setelah Sep 2002, otomatis aplikasi
Child Benefit juga memicu datangnya voucher CTF sebesar £250. Sekarang
sudah saya investasikan di F&C Investment Trust (karena chargesnya
murah). Nanti umur 7 akan ditambah lagi £250 dari government.

Nah, kayaknya sekarang bener2 sudah selesai (ehem, kecuali kalo mau
mempertimbangkan "burgundy factor" tahun depan... but that's another
story ;) )

Melihat makin dipersulitnya aturan buat immigrant di UK, kayaknya bisa
runtuh juga keinginan untuk tidak ngambil 'burgundy passport' ...
Uh.... sampai kapan bisa bertahan dengan 'merah-putih' ... please ... please
... dual citizenship to be legalize by MPR ... masa kalah sama Filipina
....????

[indoexpat-uk] NHS treatment for visitor

Dear Rekans,
Bapak dan Ibu mertua ku akan datang ke UK minggu ini, rencananya mereka akan
tinggal bersama keluarga saya hingga April 2008.
Ada yang punya informasi mengenai eligibility visitor seperti mertuaku untuk
mendapatkan treatment dari NHS seperti kita, by means: free consultations at
least.

NHS charges and people from abroad
Your entitlement to free NHS treatment
depends on the length and purpose of your residence in the UK, not your
nationality. There may be charges for some NHS services, for example,
your dental treatment, and you may be entitled to help with these
charges. Any free NHS treatment you receive, or any help with NHS
costs, does not affect your immigration status.
If you are entitled to it, you can obtain free treatment immediately. There is no qualifying period.

Kalo sekaya Lakshmi Mittal ato Al Fayed, bisa tuh :)
