Saya baru liat di holland embassy website ternyata kita ga perlu pindahin work permit ke passport baru kalo
mo apply schengen visa dari Netherland.

such a letter.
The only exception is in case you can submit both your current as well as your previous passport in which your

(approx. 2 tahun lalu) biayanya £160 lewat pos, aku yakin sekarang sudah
naik ... tapi nggak tahu ... just look at home office website ... selesai
lebih kurang 3 minggu ..
Kalau mau kirim lewat pos, pembayaran dengan credit card saja, karena kalau
dengan cek, kemungkinan perlu beberapa hari untuk clearing process ...

Share pengalaman saja;
Working permit saya ada di passport lama, dan saya selalu bawa passport baru+lama kemana-mana bukan saja
ke schengen countries tetapi juga negara lain termasuk middle east. Selama ini belum pernah ada masalah,
yang harus diperhatikan adalah: datanglah ke airport minimal 1/2 jam lebih awal dari waktu normal,
karena biasanya pada saat memeriksa visa UK kita di ticket counter petugas suka kebingungan dan dia tanya
sana-tanya sini, nah itu bisa memakan waktu sampai 1/2 jam.
Suatu saat mungkin saya harus bawa passport baru + banyak passport2 lama, yah biar saja...itu khan legal,
kalau perlu saya harus bawa kopor/ransel khusus hanya untuk passport2 lama saja
Paling-paling saya harus datang 2 jam lebih awal ke airport

For additional info, menurut reply dari German embassy di bawah ini, kita cukup membawa passport lama.
Kayanya hanya French embassy yg mengharuskan kita buat transfer work permit ke passport baru. 
Ada yg punya pengalaman ama visa US? Perlu transfer ato ga? Supaya lengkap data-nya di library indoexpat....=P

Btw, buat apply egypt visa jg ga mengharuskan kita transfer work permit ke passport baru.

Peristiwa Mas Viktor ini terjadi di airport mana? saat masuk ke UK dari luar negeri?
ini menunjukkan bahwa imigrasi / home office mulai garis keras. sebaiknya kita semua perlu mulai berhati2.
kemarin saat saya dibandara NCL, juga ada student dr asia yg ditanyaain lama banget di paspor kontrol gara2
dia masuk ke sini tapi visanya bulan depan udah mau abis. walaupun akhirnya diperbolehkan masuk setelah
semua peraturan visa dibacakan.

sekedar info, saya bawa paspor lama saya, dan saat di imigrasi, visa saya dipindah ke paspor baru oleh
petugas imigrasi gratis :) dan dia bilang lain kali ga perlu lagi bawa paspor lama. tapi, mereka hanya
menggunakan cap visa (beserta semua infonya), bukan berupa stiker berwarna yg mewah itu.

saya kirim uang ke indo lewat Hifx / Moneycorp. rasanya semua bank di indo bisa terima. waktu itu saya kirim

menurut saya, jgn kirim lewat barclays, mahal (tapi ini tergantung dari berapa besar uang yg dikirim,
diatas 5000 biaya transfer free). mereka ambil untung dr exchange rate pound-USD. tapi ratenya masih
jauh lebih baik drpd di barclays. HTH

Di Birmingham. Tapi tidak tahu rinciannya apakah sedang mau kembali ke
UK, atau perpanjang visa atau gimana.

Terakhir saya tanya Hifx, dia harus ke non-Rupiah, jadi kita harus
transfer GBP ke USD atau EUR misalnya. Cocok kalo di Indonesianya
sudah punya tabungan valas.

kalo tabungan rupiah, ntar dengan bank penerima di indo akan otomatis dikurskan ke rupiah dengan rate
USD-IDR hari itu.
masih jauh lebih bagus drpd barclays.

Kita ga tahu kapan Viktor ini ditahan. Paling bisa asumsi bahwa
paspornya somehow lagi di pegang pihak imigrasi (bisa lagi masuk UK,
bisa juga lagi perpanjang), dan mereka melakukan verifikasi ke sekolah
dan employernya. Begitu allegedly ketahuan over working hours,
langsung paspor di tahan dan di deportasi (bukan "ekstradisi", to be
precise).
