Re: Net notrality

Hi

what really interest me about the whole ComCast saga, is the way they went
about doing it.

yes, providers have been shaping/throttling p2p apps for years. but this
generally just limited the packets you could send by rate or acl i.e. slow
it down, or drop it.

What ComCast have deployed, essentially means that they are now spoofing TCP
packets to both their customers, and the "other end" of a TCP session of
their customer.

When you start spoofing your customers traffic, what's next?

Regards

Puzzling Mail

Has anyone seen anything like this going around. The mail contained a zipped attachment containing a
selection of mails from our subscriber's sent items.

From: A Concerned Friend Friend [mailto:ls.lane2@...]
Sent: 17 March 2008 11:30 AM
To: xxxxxxxxx
Subject: Andre (You won't know the e-mail because I set myself up on gmail)

Hi Andre, you are most probably wondering who the hell is sending you this e-mail, but I would prefer to stay
anonymous. And I'm sure you'll understand why.

My brother (who works in IT at Allan Gray), was able to get into e-mail via your ADSL line and send it to me.
