Re: [OS:N:] Safesquid-Content Filtering Proxy Server

Thanks for the info.
As a developer after seeing this promo and following the link, I see
that there is promise for making a living upgrading Open Source
projects.
I have been using Privoxy. Runs even on Windows, is free, is
customizable.

[OS:N:] .LRN ('Dot-Learn') consortium formed

[Slightly edited -- KJC]

SOURCE: Linux Weekly News
URL: http://lwn.net/Articles/106277/

             .LRN ('DOT-LEARN') CONSORTIUM FORMED

Several universities (including MIT, Heidelberg University, and the
University of Sydney) have gotten together and announced the formation
of the .LRN Consortium, which is dedicated to the development of open
source educational software. More information is available at
http://dotlrn.org/

Just to be clear: this seems to be a consortium to support and promote
a particular suite of open source educational software:

".LRN is an open source application suite
        for learning and research communities."

Re: [OS:N:] .LRN ('Dot-Learn') consortium formed

Another project with similar goals would be SchoolTool at
http://www.schooltool.org/. What's cool about SchoolTool is that the
project director and benefactor (Mark Shuttleworth, the excentric that
was the first space tourist) is offering bounties for its development.
