Bad FTP security issue

Hi Adrian,

While trying to upload the new German XWP 1.0.8 NLS, I found a security 
problem with the FTP setup. I'd better not write more about that here 
publically, but I'll send a description to you by e-mail.

Unable to access ftp or cvs

I have been unable to access either the ftp site or the cvs for the last

I have those problems too, right now I can't say at all what the problem 
actually is. Yesterday I had the issues at an ISP on the way to the 
server, today I'm not really sure what happens.

I will try to see what I can do.

xpwidgets cvs access for Paul Ratcliffe

Hi Adrian,

Please update

 cvs.netlabs.org:/netlabs.cvs/xwpwidgets/CVSROOT/writers

to give Paul Ratcliffe commit access to the xpwidgets repository.

XWP 1.0.8 NLS on FTP

Hi,

the German NLS package for XWP 1.0.8 I uploaded accidentally got moved 
to the wrong directory. Could you please move it to /pub/xworkplace/nls?

I re-uploaded it to /incoming so people who read the announcement don't 
get a file not found error. Could you please remove the file from 
/incoming after moving the package to the correct directory?

ok problems are solved I think. There were two issues, one was a problem 
at Telia, I had huge packet loss on the way to Germany on the Telia 
links. That seems to be fixed now and that is just an issue for me and 
some other people taking that path :)

Second, I had a performance problem with Apache, in some reasons the 
server seems to fork too many Apache processes which completely nukes 
the performance of the box. >250 Apache processes is a bit too much :)

I fixed that for the moment (limit is 20 processes now) and I will do 
some more reading about optimizing Apache on the box later.
