Hello Freifunk team,
I am graduate student, pursuing my masters in Computer Science in NCSU, Raleigh,USA.
I came across your project idea page and am very much interested in learning and contributing towards OLSR routing protocol.
I came to know GSOC little late, so i would agree my application template isn't complete but I would be working on it in coming weeks and
and would like to work with Freifunk community this summer.
Please let me like what else i need to do because i am still not sure of the process like selecting the Mentors.
Thanks and looking forward for the response.I am attaching the template and resume and cover letter.
-Thanks,
Narahari

2. new routing metrics for OLSR
Possible Mentor (optional)
- Benefits to the Free Software Community, who would gain
from your project?
- I would like to bringing in the new features of OLSR and want to integrate within the Windows Networking stack, i hope this task involves making changes to NDIS, which is my area of interest. As of now, I myself am seeing as the beneficiary which helps me learn and contribute and also very confident like porting this to windows would help in larger acceptance of users.
- Deliverable - It is very important to list
quantifiable results here e.g.
- Project Details - more detailed
description.
- Project Schedule - How
long will the project take? When
can you begin work?
- Design Document on porting the OLSR to windows.
- Code and code documentation with all the test cases with necessary deliverable like INF files and build scripts for installation of any new drivers.
I need to
figure this out with my mentor and
will be drafting the schedule and project
details and project as soon as possible and will share the same.
- Availability - How many hours per week can you spend
working on this? What other obligations do you have this summer?
I would
available 40 hours per week during
this summer:
Starting
from 2 week of May to 1 week of September.
- How do you plan to continue with your project and
within the freifunk community after GSoC?
Yes I would
be committed and would assure that I would work in the project until the
objective is achieved and would be happy explore more opportunities within
Freifunk community.
- Bio and Free Software Experiences - Who are you? What
makes you the best person to work on this project? What free and/or open
source projects have you participated in? Please describe your
contributions.
