ORSN (Open Root Server Network) down?

since january the orsn-nameserver, shut down?
we in leipzig are taking this just into mind because two of three 
nameserver-entries in our freifunk-firmware are from these project.

the third nameserver, this is our own. but we have destroyed them 
wednesday (openvpn- and vm-foo), so there are no nameservers left for 
use :-(

i think, this is for our hole freifunk-network. but, there is still 
traffic, hmm :-/

Der soll ja normalerweise auch nur die Root Zone haben, Recursiv auflösen kannst du dann mit einem lokal
installierten DNS Server.

z.B.
dig NS de @193.238.157.110

funktioniert

Freifunk-Projekte für Google Summer of Code

Hallo,

bis zum 12. März können sich Open Source-Projekte beim Google Summer of 
Code <http://code.google.com/soc/2008/> bewerben.

Für jeden studentischen Entwickler stiftet Google ein "Stipendium" in 
Höhe von 5000 US-Dollar. 4500 Dollar der Summe gehen direkt an den 
Studenten, die restlichen 500 Dollar erhält das betreuende 
Open-Source-Projekt. Eine FAQ

Zeitplan <http://code.google.com/soc/2008/faqs.html#0.1_timeline> und 
beantwortet Fragen zu Details des Förderprogramms. (04.03.2008 11:37,

Wer Lust hat sich für ein freifunkrelevantes Projekt bei Google zu

brussel visits berlin (wifi)

Hoy,

I`m an activist of reseauCitoyen, Brussels, Belgium, another wifi community.

I`m in visit in Berlin for one or two weeks. I`m curious about how is
it going here.

I was to köpi yesterday, but everybody opens big eyes when I spoke
about freifunk und antennas. I finally get freifunk firmware pages on
the gateways adress on somebodys computer.

The neighbours with a good connection were M4, melchi-vier and
5.Pharus Emmaus. Those names says nothing to the people who were
present.

....

Somebody spoke me about C BASE once in Brussels.

....

I`m also searching for zyxell ATA`s (SIP boxes). We usually get them
branded by AOL for cheap on ebay germany. If somebody can tell me a
second hand computer shop where I can find those sort of things, it
would be great.

Yes, that's the place to go! There is a regular freifunk.net meeting labelled 'wavelöten' (engl.: wave
soldering) every Wednesday at 20:00h. You will find the c-base at Rungestr. 20, in Berlin-Mitte, near S+U
Bahnhof (Trainstation) Jannowitzbrücke. It's in the last housing block next to the river Spree at the
very end of the back yard.
