Problem with mysql?

Hi!

Great job with WifiAdmin, thanks.

I am having trouble installing it on a Voyage linux box. I am using php4.

I get the following error:

Update Step 2 / 2Database Update/Creation
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /var/www/wifiadmin/install/update.class.php on line 41

I am able to use mysql with the username and password you provided as example. See mysql text below:

voyage:/var/www/wifiadmin/config# mysql --user=dbuser --password=dbpass mysql
Reading table information for completion of table and column names
You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A

Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 44

Any idea?

Thanks!
Marco

Can you be more specific about the obstacles you found ?? Provide some error output?
You use the 0.1.0 version or no ? And you read the readme for installation procedure or no ?
Also keep in mind that the development of wifiadmin is done on apache2/ PHP 5 enabled web server. PHP5 is
backward compatible with PHP4. This decision for PHP4 was taken from the original developers and i think
it is based on the fact that some small systems may not support PHP5. So we try not to use new feutures..

PHP version

Hello everyone!

I started playing with wifiadmin today. I've had a hard time trying to
put it to work untill I realised that it's written in PHP4 (I admit,
my fault that I oversaw that) .
And then it costed me some more time to do the necessary changes in
the environment (which I am actually not finished) to put it to work
under a box with PHP5.
I wonder if there are plans to update it to PHP5, since PHP4 seems to
be off the map in most distros.

Thank you for making the tool available!

Cheers!
Ricarso

Multiple subnets???

Hi I want to add another subnet to my metrix box -

Here is the uname from it: Linux "removedbyme" 2.4.29 #2 Sat Feb 5 15:12:16 PST 2005 i586 unknown

There currently are ath0, br0, and eth0 on the box ( and L0 of course)

The network admin before me set this up, and I am running out of IP space, and want to add another subnet - I can not get the next subnet in the line IE:  if I had 192.168.2.X and add 192.168.3.X no problem right?

So what I want to do is: 192.168.2.X and add 192.168.45.X ( all numbers made up )

But still not have 192.168.2 through 192.168.42 on the same network - just have 192.168.2 and 192.168.45 on the box.

So I think that this box is in a bridged mode as br0 exists - so I do not want to enable eth0 least I loose connectivity to the box.

And I do not want to have to re-address every client, to have an ordered subnet -

Any cool ideas out there?

Thanks in advance!
