Copy-Paste is not working from Real VNC session

Hi,

We have been facing this issue since long. I think, some buffer limit is
there for copying the data from realvnc session to clipboard. We cannot copy
more than that limit. After that limit reached, we have to restart the
realvnc session to make it work again. Please let me know if I am missing
any thing. Could any one please suggest any permanent solution for this.

     OK, I'm back on this matter.  I've downloaded the personal edition and
it's a lot better.  I set the compression/colour level to the maximum of 64
colours.  Now, my VNC server is a LOT more responsive than before.

Performance issue on W2K3

I'm running RealVNC on a W2K3 server. When a client connects,
performance degrades massively - e.g. when I click on an icon, it takes
from 8 to 14 seconds before it is highlighted. Even moving the cursor I
have to wait 4-12 seconds before it arrives. It means that VNC is
unusable for this connection.

CPU never goes above 13% while this is going on

I don't know whether this is connected but, on the client machine, the
VNC session always runs in full screen, whether I request this or not.

The problem is the same whether I use RealVNC or WinVNC

I've tried almost every permutation of polling parameters, none of them
work.

Any suggestions?

Hosts=+ command line switch not working

Hello,

I am currently using the following batch file on a small network:

Works fine apart from the host=+ command line option. I can seem to
connect from any machine rather than the ones specified.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Permissions to Change Password in 4.1.3

Environment: I have a dozen or so users with RealVNC Free Edition 4.1.3
on Windows XP SP2 machines.

Goal: I'm trying to grant them the ability to set their own VNC password
with giving them local administrator privileges to the Windows XP SP2
host, so I instructed the users to right click on the VNC icon in the
system tray, select Options, but the users receive the following message
and are unable to proceed.

Error: "You do not have sufficient access rights to run the VNC
Configuration applet"

Here's what I've tried to make it work.

1.       Added users with write permission to c:\program
files\realvnc\vnc" folder.

2.       Added users with Full Control permission to
"HKLM\Software\RealVNC\VNC" key.

3.       Added users to RealVNC Service with permission to
Start,Stop,Pause service.

4.       Finally, I added users to local "Power Users" group.

We're still getting the error message when users attempt to change their
own password.

Any ideas?

vnc and openoffice impress

Hi,

I'm running fedora 6, and whenever I'm using openoffice 2.0 -
impress in the slide-show mode on a vnc window, open-office
crashes. It does not happen when I run it from the console
(e.g. 0.0). I wonder if there is any setting that I should
use to solve this. Thanks in advance.

Unable to connect to VNC

Hello:

I used to connect to my home PC from my iPod touch with no problems using
RealVNC but after I reinstalled XP I no longer can.

I'm using RealVNC free edition.

I exhausted all possibilities and can't find the problem.

I disabled Windows Firewall and used my router's port forwarding (2Wire
2701HG-T) ,disabled my router's firewall and did the following steps
http://www.realvnc.com/support/portforward.html with no help.

Can you think of anything that I may be missing?

problem with viewing pc movies over VNC

i have VNC free 4.1.3 installed on an XP SP3 box in my basement office. the
s-video out on that PC's grafix card goes into my TV upstairs. i can get the
image fine and can use VNC on the TV screen. however whenever i try to watch
an AVI movie using any number of different apps, i get the audio but the
viewing appliaction stays black, both in VNC and on the TV. but the movie is
running perfectly (image and audio etc) on the basement PC. so to summarise,
i get audio but no video picture in the video player, despite seeing the pc
desktop etc on VNC and my TV. any ideas?

Disable Local Screen when logged on remotely?

I am recent convert from Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Is there a way to blank out the screen when one logs on remotely?  I 
don't want somebody sitting at my desk watching me work.
I am running 4.3.1 Enterprise on Windows XP 32.
