Hi Al, 

Is TIPC 1.7.5 compatible with TIPC 1.5.12 ?  I guess it is a superset of
1.5.12 ?

An old mail on TIPC 1.7 pre-release says that "full interoperability
with pre-1.7 is not implemented". Is that still true?

Hi Phani:

The term "compatible" is a bit ambiguous.  The TIPC 1.7 User's Guide
(http://tipc.sourceforge.net/doc/tipc_1.7_users_guide.html) describes
impacts on applications (in section 5.3), and interoperability
considerations when running networks containing different versions of
TIPC (in section 6).

For the most part, compatability is present in both these areas.
However, there are a few special cases that could be of concern to some
users, so you're best off to read the User's Guide and determine if
you're affected by these or not.

  Why do you want to change the max message size?
You can either segment buffers in user-space or you can
establish a connection-oriented socket and send your 6.6MB
in one call to send()... I wouldn't recommend it but in theory
that should work...
