New user with failed to connect to server issue

I am at my wits end with this and just can't figure out what the problem is. I am trying to access a vps and I think I have done everything right. to avoid router issues I have by-passed the router and I am plugged in straight to my cable modem. Any help will be appreciated and is there anyone that provides telephone or remote support for tightvnc?

thanks

Patrick

Response File Creation

HI,

I need to customize my tight VNC installation. I found that we need to generate a .iss response file for an exe in order to customize its installation.
I am currently using tightvnc2.0.4 exe. The problem is I am unable to create a .iss file while installing.
Any help on how to achieve this is really appreciated.
tightvnc-2.0.4-setup.exe -r -f1D:\endpoint.iss

TightVNC 2.5.1 released

Hello everyone,

I'm glad to inform you that we have released TightVNC 2.5.1.

And I'm sorry for the delay with the announcement. Actually, we released
it a week ago but it includes a lot of changes so it took us a lot
of time to prepare announcements, update the Web site, send
notifications and so on.

New version features completely new viewer, new MSI-based installer,
native 64-bit versions of all components, ultra-fast operation with
mirror display driver, and more.

Make sure to read the complete announcement:

Re: TightVNC 2.5.1 released

Constantin,

Is there any future for the Unix/Linux server component of TightVNC? I see that it hasn't been updated in quite some time.

Thanks,
- Ben S.

TightVNC 2.5 Auto-Accept Broken

I just installed the 2.5 server on our system, after uninstalling 2.0.3 and the Query feature doesn't seem to be working any more.

We have our systems set to Query various IP ranges allowed to connect to the system, and after a 15 second Query timeout, it is set to Accept connection.

The problem is that when we connect to a remote system and enter the password, the remote system displays the Accept/Reject window and it says "Connection will be accepted automatically in 15 seconds" but never counts down.  It just stays on the screen.

Also, in the TightVNC Service Configuration window on the Access Control window, when you make any changes to that window, the Apply button remains grayed-out as if no changes were made.

Yes, we plan to go multiplatform. First, we'll release clients for
Unix/Linux, then the server part will be ported as well. Actually, our
goal is to make current 2.x code make as portable as possible.

We've fixed both auto-accept and the Apply button. Now we will be
working to fix a few known issues in the new viewer, and will release
2.5.2 as soon as possible.

Thank you!
