Clipboard not working

Hello All,

I have installed the TightVNC 2.7.7 server service on several computers. I have installed the TightVNC 2.7.7 viewer on my computer. All of these are Windows 7 Pro x64. Remote control works great. I typically connect to several of the server computers at the same time to install updates or new software. Unfortunately, I can’t reliably copy and paste from one computer to another with the TightVNC viewer. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn’t. On my computer, I have not checked the restriction to disable clipboard transfers. I also have the RealVNC viewer installed and it works every time.

Thanks,

Chris

No, you couldn't do it with 1.x version server.
This opportunity was added since 2.5.0 version.

Upgrading 2.7.7 from 2.7.3 on Windows 7 32 bit -- not stopping services

So, maybe this is just me, but…

I remotely controlled to a Windows 8 64-bit machine and was able to upgrade from 2.7.3 to 2.7.7 (64 bit)
without issue.

On my 32-Bit Windows 7 machine -- doing the same thing (except using the 32-bit installer) -- the upgrade
install stopped at "stopping services".

I had to go to the machine and click "Cancel" -- which actually made the installer continue on after that.

This was/is my only 32-bit Windows 7 machine, so I don't know how reproducible this is, but I thought I'd pass
this on.

Cannot log into Windows 7 Pro from VNC

Hello:

I have TVNC 2.7.1, 2.7.3 and 2.7.7 installed on 13 i7based Windows 7 x64 pro machines.

None of the machines will allow us to “log into windows” from the vnc screen. Once we have logged into windows, TVNC works perfect. But, if the last user in windows should log out and leave us at the Windows 7 login screen, then we are effectively locked out until someone physically goes to the machine and gets us past the login screen.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

We have version 2.0.4 installed in our farm back at a different office on 2008 R2 64 and I can log off and log in again over VNC no problem.

Is there a new bug since 2.7.1 on windows 7 that has this issue?

Cheers,

John

Windows Server uses 99% CPU

Here is the configuration:

Server side: TightVNC 2.7.1 on Windows XP Home

Client side:
Client 1 (works reliably): TightVNC 2.7.1 on Windows 7 Home (Laptop)
Client 2 (breaks the server): Remmina 1.0.0 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

When I use the Remmina VNC client on the Ubuntu computer to connect to
the Windows machine, the server on the Windows machine uses 99% of the
CPU capacity, as indicated by the Windows Task Manager, after about 5
minutes in the session. Once this occurs, the CPU load continues even
after I disconnect the client. If I end the tvnserver.exe process that
is using all the CPU, everything goes back to normal, without a reboot.

Any Ideas about why this occurs?

Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D does not work

Hi,

I am using TightVNC Viewer and TightVNC Server version (version 2.7.3 for both viewer and server).

I am using an application where I should use the keyboard combination Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D to bring up a menu. However, this does not work.

I have also tried to use the options to send the Ctrl and Alt keys via TightVNC Viewer, together with manually pressing Shift and the D key, with the same result.

The Tight VNC Server is running on a Windows 7, the Viewer is running on a Windows 8 (both 64 bit).

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Mads Pedersen

Re: TightVNC is updated to version 2.7.3

Kevin,

Windows NT 4.0 SP6 is supported in TightVNC 1.3.10 (you can download it here: http://www.tightvnc.com/download-old.php).

And that is the last version to support it, since after it support for this system has been dropped.

31.05.2013 2:48, Kevin Quitt пишет:
Yes, it surely does. TightVNC runs on Windows NT 5.1 – 6.2, that is:
  • Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8
  • Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012
29.05.2013 23:26, Kevin Quitt пишет:
Does it run on NT?

So in other words, this version does *not* run under Windows NT.

Is there a version newer than 1.2.4 that will?

Win 7 TightVNC Viewer can't connect to Raspberry Pi running Raspian Wheezy with tightvncserver

I have a Raspberry Pi, Model B, running in headless mode on my home network.

I have a dual boot laptop, Win7/Ubuntu

From Ubuntu, I can SSH into the R-Pi no problem.
I have installed tightvncserver on it as per instructions from

http://www.penguintutor.com/linux/tightvnc

and I can connect with no problems, and see the GUI desktop on the Raspberry Pi

I have also downloaded and installed the Windows version of TightVNC.

However when I try to use TightVNC on the Win7 side, it cannot connect.

I get the message "connection actively refused" <--- sorry on Ubuntu right now, can't quote the entire error message from memory

Has anyone else seen this problem? Any ideas on how to look for the problem and hopefully find a solution?
