Driver Problem

Hi there,

Can anybody help me with a driver problem?
Thinstation doesn't recognise the Broadcom Netlink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express Card in my HP T5730 - Thinclient.

I tried out the driver tg3 delivered with Thinstation 2.2 -> didn't work, system booted, but no eth interface loaded
I tried out the driver tg3 in Thinstation 2.3 -> system hangs when loading the tg3 driver
I tried out the driver in the download-section thinstation-drivers -> system hangs when loading the tg3 driver.
The driver which was delivered by HP for the Debian environment (where it worked perfectly) didn't work under any Thinstation Version (2.2, 2.2.1, 2.3).

What can I do?

help required.

I am getting constant ' can not open /dev/null' error at the time of initialising thinstation. Though the rest of process is smooth.

I am using latest thinstation 2.3 beta 2.

Any help is welcome.

Unknown side effect

Hello thinstation-developer,

PROBLEM

Two month ago I gave away yet another PC as thin station in production
and the user was disaponted the fact while he tried rename folder 
and start to print letters in Cyrillc charset he was thrown away from
this operation.

This PC was Celeron-600/Intel810/RTL-8139,
connection was to Win2003 through rdesktop with only one session
and ThinStaton verson was 2.3 beta 1.

It was very strange because the neighboring PC the similar to this PC
with Celeron-600/S3/RTL-8139 worked flawlessly.

I used the one downloaded image ("thinstation.nbi") with mininmum modules/drivers
for all PCs and difference could only be in drivers they used.
They also used the same configuration file ("thinstation.conf.network").

The first thought was - "bad keyboard" but a brand new keyboard gave nothing.

SOLUTION

Thinking about what should I do I have changed default setting:
SESSION_0_SCREEN=1
 to 
SESSION_0_SCREEN=0
in "thinstation.conf.network".

I cannot explain this side effect but it did the trick. The neighboring PC
also worked fine after rebooting.

So it would be very useful to change this default setting in distros.

help needed

Dear all

I am having one win 2003 server "standard edition". i want to make it as boot img server for thinboot on client machines.

first i copyed the thinstation.network prebuilt image to c:\

in that i find one tftpd root directory,inside that i edited one thinstation.network file and saved

after that i installed dhcp service in that server

and i added the scope option, and configured the bott file name as "thinstation.nbi.zpxe" & loction as "my server ip"

after that i installed ris service in server and started TFTPd service.

after that in regedit on TFTPD folder

i created a string named Directory=C:\TFTPD root

after that i started my client and put lan as boot device after that it starts

and the dhcp assignes the IP ,but at the next i found PXE:T01 & PXE:E38

what is the problem pls help me

How to build in a new version of rdesktop

Hi. I am not a developer or a linux guru. But I managed to boot linux and extract the main build and build images
with small adjustments to build.conf. I want to implement the new rdesktop 1.6. How do I do it? I found this
on google http://www.nabble.com/rdesktop-1.6-td18053557.html. I tried to download the
rdesktop-1.6.0_TS-2.2.tar.gz file and added it to the build. I first removed the original rdesktop that
was under packages and added the extracted contents and run build. But when I boot up a computer using the
image the was made I get and error stating that rdesktop is not to be found be sure to look at your build.conf
file.......... Any Ideas?

Have you ever been to try to run rdesktop with full path, like /bin/rdesktop 
?
Perhaps your environment variable PATH may be null.

Thinstation 2.2.2 Release

Thinstation-2.2.2 has been uploaded to sourceforge and is now available for your pleasure.

This is basically a bug release, but with a few long-time contributions rolled in (eg. the flash & firefox installer are included) and rdesktop updated to 1.6.0.
