Re: virtual console

Are you talking about when you have a session started? We can no longer
switch either. . .if we have X started (we normally run from replimenu).

usb flash / russian letters in file names

Hello thinstation-developer.

Will be very nice, if i could set iocharset and codepage for mounting
removable device... Something like

STORAGE_USB_CODEPAGE=cp866
STORAGE_USB_IOCHARSET=koi8-r

and this makes such options for supermount:
-o ....,codepage=cp866,iocharset=koi8-r

sorry for my terrible english, its not my native language

Re: usb flash / russian letters in file names

I guess this is the wrong way. More better is to use unicode and to add
utf8 to the mount command, e.g. 'mount -t supermount -o
fs=auto,dev=$DEVNAME,--,utf8 /mnt/usbdevice/$devname
/mnt/usbdevice/$devname'. But this way will need major changes in the
thinstation's i18n support.

Re: docs

Hi Miles,

(I sent this to the Thinstation developer list, too).

Thanks. I find it much easier to read, so I'm glad you agree!

BTW, I'm going to submit diffs for the docs I haven't cleaned up - just
haven't had time. I'll try to get them out to you on the weekend (June
3rd and 4th, here).

After they're looking better, it'll probably be a good idea to start
improving the docs. I doubt I'll be able to do that before 2.2 goes
live, so it will have to be for a point release.

Regards,

Ranbir

Yeah, that's definitely wrong. It explains why setting those options
has never worked for me. :)

As I am new to thinstation please excuse me for butting in and making
uninformed comments, but I have been browsing through the code recently
and looking at how options are passed around, including the Xorg config.
While it would be pretty trivial to duplicate the awk scripts that include
the video driver options and apply similar logic to the Monitor section
- or modify the template - I am wondering why it has been done this way.

Clearly setting simple variables and injecting them into templates is
convenient for those that do not want or need to be bothered with the
details of configuration files - but there is a severe loss of generality
and flexibility.

Would it not be more flexible to embed the Xorg config file (or any config
file) in the thinstation.conf file itself for loading at boot time ? e.g.;

# At the end of thinstation.conf.network
...
cat > /etc/X11/XF86Config-0 << EOF
...
Section "Monitor"
    Identifier  "Monitor0"
    HorizSync   "$SCREEN_HORIZSYNC"
    VertRefresh "$SCREEN_VERTREFRESH"

openvpn patches

Hi All,
These patches are for openvpn startup script. After patching one can put
client.p12 file (client certificate in pkcs12 format) into openvpn
