yes, it is included in the source distro, under the samba source
as for your senario, I don't know :o) i don't like the idea of putting in
clear text passwords in a config file, smbpasswod is to big to include,
unless we add it as a seperate package
anyone else have any ideas?

hundreds of client positions with thinstation that can access to a
big server; when a user want to mount a cdrom to put in his
environment everyone can access to his cdrom data because everyone
