new version of my patch

I've just uploaded jwk7 to http://www.xs4all.nl/~thunder7

If you use multithreaded downloading and xhdr header downloading, and
you noticed that the 'Testing availability' always was a lot faster than
the actual downloading of the headers, then this patch may have a large
speed increase for you.

When slrn download headers, it knows exactly what numbers it wants (this
is what is testing in the 'Testing availability' part).

suppose we know we want

1,2,3,4,5,7,8,10

then default was to request
1-5
7-8
10

now, there's a new argument --stream-xhdr which requests
1-10

and disregards 6 and 9. This has advantages and disadvantages. All I can
say is that it's a lot faster for me (480 KiB/s flat-fee access).

Patch against current cvs attatched, the openssl compatibility part of
gnutls was splitted in gnutls10.

Patch to modify User-Agent:-Header

Hello,

sometimes I wish to post without telling anyone, that i use slrn as my news
reader. So I wrote a small'n'dirty patch to make the User-Agent: header
configurable. The patch (and some documetation) is attached, use or do not
use, as you like

Howto unset signature?

Hello,
how can I tell slrn *not* to append my signatre on spawning my editor?

I tried not to set signature at all, In this case he uses the one found
in my home. Setting signature to /dev/null ends up in a '--'.

Writing a header caching patch for mutt

Hello together,
as my connection to the DFN news server (accessing it from FAU) is dog
slow, I want to do, what I already did for mutt: Writing a patch to
cache headers for slrn.

However it is vital for me to get CVS access to current with CVS HEAD.

At the moment I have problems to access the CVS and I need a stable CVS
access because I plan to import the daily cvs deltas into my bitkeeper
tree of slrn.
