DRS_Todo: Convert_wireshark_drsuapi_to_pidl

Hi,

It seems I’ve started http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/DRS_TODO_List#Convert_wireshark_drsuapi_to_pidl
task without knowing it is the DRS_Todo list.

Work in progress is published here (inspired by the approach taken in
OpenChange project – thanks Julien):

It is not much of a progress so far.
I’ve just ported DRS methods I had needed for ‘net drs’ tool.

Should I keep it that way?

P.S. If anyone wants a push access to this repo, please let me know.

Recent patches

Hi Andrew,

I've pushed 5 recent patches that we have discussed before into this repository:
http://github.com/endisd/samba/commits/development/

Please let me know if there is any issue with them. I'd like to get them committed

Problem with samba_dnsupdate


When trying to run /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba_dnsupdate, i get the error

Running a version of s4 i got last friday from rsync. On a centos 5.4 machine.

Drat.

It seems that CentOS 5.4 does not have the python module we require.
Have you searched to see if the module is available in a different
package?

I'm not sure what the best approach is here (we were trying to write
normal python scripts using the normal python modules) - you can use the
manual DNS zone file in the meantime.

I installed this http://www.dnspython.org/, and now its starts, however, i get this error:

S4 Group Policy Modeling Wizard

Hi,

Testing Samba4 (Version 4.0.0alpha12-GIT-a050c79) from an XP SP3 joined
workstation I've came across an error about the Group Policy Modeling
Wizard:  "RPC-server  cannot be contacted" (translated from Hungarian),
is this a still missing RPC call or could it be my misconfiguration?

Yeah, many thanks to all that have been working so hard to get this one
out.

Very well done!

Everyone deserves to get out and celebrate the achievement.
This is one of the few times I regret we are so spread around the world,
nothing beats a small release party ... but I am sure we can do
something at SambaXP soon!

Status Samba branches

Hey folks,

as you might have noticed, Samba 3.5.0 is out now! That means, Samba 3.2
will be discontinued (no more security releases), Samba 3.3 will be turned
into the security fixes only mode and Samba 3.4 will be turned into the
maintenance mode (major bug fixes only).

THe Wiki has benn updated accordingly:
