GCC or the Sun compiler?

I've got an Open Solaris (build 64-ish) VM around here somewhere with
both on it, I think... I can try under both tomorrow (erm... later today
- past my bedtime!) and report if it would be at all helpful to anyone
who doesn't have a spare box/time to play compiler games on.

It's not an error but a warning message. Have you looked into config.log
to see what was actually wrong ?

Apply the attached patch, it is bug id 5799 in samba bugzilla.
But please note, that while it fixes the compile problem, it doesn't
make the fake-kaserver part functional :-( (yet ), because in
source/lib/afs_settoken.c there is a deprecated openafs syscall, now I
try to figure out how could I rewrite it.

After poking at the code with gdb, I think I see a minor bug here.
Before the loop enters, conn->vfs_handles looks good, and
conn->vfs_handles->next also looks correct (as do all subsequent
->next pointers). Then, in the first iteration, after DLIST_REMOVE,
handle->next is NULL, so thandle is set to NULL. Looking at the
