Have you re-run configure?

If that doesn't fix it, then it might be a good time to just wipe your whole tree. This command will
remove *EVERYTHING* that isn't committed to git, which of course
includes all our build artefacts.

git clean -x -f -d

CreatePrinterIC failure from Windows8 client

Hi,

While testing Window8 print functionality I notice that the point and print
installation of the SAMBA shared printer fails.

The symptom is that the driver files gets copied on to the client but
towards the end while finishing the printer addition Windows8 throws an
error "Cannot connect to Printer: Operation failed with error 0x000006d1".
Please note the PnP installation for the same printer works fine from a
Windows7 client.

The printer server I'm using is Debian etch with SAMBA-3.5.15 installed on
it and the client is a Windows8-Pro running on a laptop.

I captured the packet trace from which it appears like this is an RPC error
from SAMBA side. Below is the snippet of failed communication:

SPOOLSS CreatePrinterIC request

DCERPC Fault: call_id: 19 Fragment: Single ctx_id: 0 status:
nca_op_rng_error

By looking at the source code (source3/rpc_server/srv_spoolss_nt.c, line
#9711 - 9716) it looks like SAMBA does not support this RPC call.

WERROR _spoolss_CreatePrinterIC(pipes_struct *p,

                                struct spoolss_CreatePrinterIC *r)

Samba4-rc4 Internal DNS && ACL sync problem

Hello,

I am trying to connect to samba4 internal DNS server from Win7 using DNS manager. but I cannot connect to it;
however I am able to connect to the same on windows server.

the samba4 dns is however working fine. I can resolve hosts properly.

do I need may be to configure anything, or set server role parameter to something?

My second issue is:

I am trying to synchronize a folder (including acl) from windows server to samba4 share but during
synchronization I get this:

Samba4 DNS error

We have setup separate 2 Samba4 Domains in test environments and are having some errors in DNS. The errors
are the same on both domains and they are as follows.

Domain 1:
Ubuntu 12.04
Samba 4.1.0pre1-GIT-92e17d5
This domain was a clean provision as a new domain.

Domain 2:
Debian 6.0.6
Samba 4.1.0pre1-GIT-92e17d5
Classic upgrade from Samba3

When trying to add a Forwarder to DNS using the DNS Remote Administration tool on Windows 7 we receive
"The server forwarders cannot be upgraded.
This function is not supported on this system."

On both systems we are using Samba4's internal DNS.

Thank you,
Brian

Internal dns server supports only one forwarder and it must be declared in
smb.conf as follows:

dns forwarder = <ip addr of external dns server>

See https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS for more info.
