Windows Install - Not running

Hi

I have installed OpenNMS as per the instructions on your site.  I have opened pgAdmin III and connected to the postgres database.  I cannot 'start' the service as this is greyed out on the tools menu.

I have entered http://localhost:8980/opennms/index.jsp but the page cannot be found.

As per the instructions I have run the opennms.bat start command and received back all of the same cmd line responses as per the image in the instructions.

I believe this is probably user error during install, can you please assist me.

Kind regards

Aaron

64 Bit Counters

I have been looking to find out how to ensure that we are using 64 bit counters to monitor our Alcatel Lucent Switches. I can see that there are HC counters defined in the mib2.xml file under /etc/datacollection, but it doesn't appear that they are being used.

We did a capture of traffic from the switch looking at SNMP traffic and only saw the OID for the 32 bit counters. We have set the switches to send traps to OpenNMS so that trapd could be used for discovery. Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tadge

Would you mind opening an issue about this at
http://issues.opennms.org/? We're probably expecting it to say
"PostgreSQL 8.4.7" instead, and have to handle "EnterpriseDB" being a
synonym.

Re: OpenNMS installation on Windows

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for the advise. Created an Issue, Issue # NMS-5431 (http://issues.opennms.org/browse/NMS-5431)
I tried on multiple machine having PostgreSQL Plus Advance Server, but it failed with each of them. I too, think that the problem might be with OpenNMS with PostgreSQL Plus Advance Server.
Hope this resolves quickly.

M. Rizwan Khan

Upgrading Opennms from 1.8.17-1 to 1.10.4.1

After upgrading to 1.10.4.1 opennms won't start.

During upgrade, java also upgrades to 1.6.0.24 from 1.5.0_17 so I had to correct java settings (/usr/share/opennms/bin/runjava -s)

Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and Postgres is running. No errors when running 1.8.17-1.

Please help
