Windowss CPU data

Hi,

I have openNMS setup on a linux box and it is currently monitoring 156 machines. I am using SNMP to monitor the health or each machine. However, on the machines running Windows (using the Windows agent) I don’t get the CPU information. Could somebody please instruct me how to get the CPU information. Please note that I can only use the Windows snmp agent as installing another is not really an option due to time issues.

Cheers,

Peter Crute

In order to get snmp CPU counters...and good ones for each...we did have
to add the snmp-informant agent ON TOP of the SNMP from windows. This
agent installs super quick, no reboot needed (though you do want to
restart the snmp service), and ONMS detects it with no changes at all to
your configs. This is an extension of the SNMP mib in windows...and it's
free.

Change NMS IP address

All,

I installed a very simple OpenNMS system on CentOS 5.4 in a lab environment with DHCP enabled before the customer provided their IP addressing scheme.

I now have the new static IP address the customer wants to use for the OpenNMS system.  I know how to set this in Linux but will changing the IP address “break” anything in the OpenNMS application?  I just want to verify if there are any known issues.

Regards,

David Ulmer

Nope. You should be fine changing it. Note that if any networks you
could reach before are now unreachable, you'll see outages.

New CentOS install not working.

Hello folks,

I would like some help / input, I have installed OpenNMS on CentOS 5.4 via .rpm. Link used is http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation:Yum#Start_OpenNMS .  Everything install according to the instructions.  but I can't get anything from the webserver.  I have tried :

when I look in the logs for error I find:

I have been looking at the error hibernate.log and think is might be postgres related but I don't know what it is.

if anyone has any input or can offer any help.

Do you have IP tables installed? What is in the /opt/opennms/logs/webapp/jetty.log file? On the system,
can you "telnet localhost 8980" and get a connection?
